Chapter 41 Mason Sees Another Side of Celeste
“What’s Celeste’s connection to him? Mason directly asked.
John replied. “We haven’t found anything yet. Based on the current data, it doesn’t seem like Mr. Carter has any relationship with Torn.”
“Impossibile. Keep digging Mason snapped. If they weren’t connected, why would Tom keep targeting Geleste?
There had to be something deeper going on, some sunresolved grudge.
“Understood.” John agreed
They had focused their investigation on Tom but hadn’t thoroughly checked into Celeste. Once they looked closer, John realized there wasn’t much
Celeste’s background seemed clean nothing usual or suspicious. There was no apparent link between her and Tom Walker, nor any financial dealings that tied them together.
Mason soon arrived at the racetrack but didn’t immediately spot Celeste.
However, he did notier Jessica, someo
someone he recognized as Celeste’s friend.
He approached her. “Hella.”
Before he could say more, Jessica glared at him and snapped, “Get lost
Mason frowned. “Where’s Celeste
“What’s it in you Haven’t you and your family done enough damage? Why are you still haunting her, ex–husband?”
“Me, hurt her?” Mason was confined.
“You don’t think you’ve hurt her? If you had any conscience, you’d divorce her and let her go.” Jessica didn’t hold back her disdain for him. Celeste has given so much, and what did she get in return? Nothing but heartbreakt
“Where is she?” Mason pressed, not interested in correcting Jessica’s view of him.
“She’s racing
Mason glanced toward the racetrack. The weather wasn’t great, with dark clouds looming despite it only being morning. It looked like it might rain
He also spotted Anthony in the distance. “What’s he doing here?”
Mason didn’t like Anthony. How could he possibly feel good about someone openly coveting his wife?
“If you can be here, why can’t be!” Jessica shot back.
Mason’s mood darkened. Celeste was out here having fan with Anthony? He was not happy about this.
Within minutes, two motorcycles sped back toward the pit,
Celeste was in the lead, and she skillfully pulled off a drift, parking smoothly in front of Jessica
With one hand, she removed her helmet, grinning as she teased, “So, how cool was I jus!__”
Before she could finish her sentence, Celeste’s eyes landed on Mason, and her smile immediately vanished.
“What are you doing here?“.
Mason was relentless. He had followed her here. Why wasn’t he at the hospital with her?
Mason had never seen Celeste like this before. Dressed in a tight racing suit, her face glowing with confidence and pride, she looked stunning. The sight of her removing her helmet, full of energy and charisma, was burned into his memory. She was breathtakingly beautiful.
But that smale disappeared the moment she saw him. :
“Celeste, I need to talk to you,” Mason said, unable to tear his eyes away from her
“Thave nothing to say to you” she shot back shutting him down.
Just then, Michael pulled in behind her. “Celeste, you’re incredible! I’ve been practicing for ages, and I still can’t keep up with you.”
His admiration was evident. Celeste had mastered the course with ease, while Michael struggled to match her pare
Anthony approached next, holding out a bottle of water and a towel.
“You must be thirsty. Have some water” Anthony hunded her the water, with the bottle cap already sunscrewed
Celeste was indeed parched. She accepted the water with a quick “Thanks,” and gulped it down.
“Take it easy.” Anthony said gently, taking the bottle from her and using the towel to wipe the sweat from her forehead. His actions were attentive
and intimate
Celeste realized the moment felt 100 close. She took the towel from him. “I can do it myself”
Chapter 41 Mason Sees Another Side of Celeste
The weather was already hot, and after two intense laps. Celeste’s face was flushed, Standing there, her cheeks red, she looked almost as if she were
blushing
Mason watched the interaction, fists clenched, veins popping on the back of his hand.
He was furious seeing Anthony act so familiar with Celeste, as if he didn’t even exist.
The scene of Anthony taking care of Celeste was too much for Mason to bear.
He wanted to march over and pull Anthony away he was in the way.
Meanwhile, Michael noticed Mason’s presence and turned to Jessica. “Hey, sis, what’s your ex–husband doing here? Did someone w
Everyone kept calling him “ex–husband” when, technically, he and Celeste weren’t divorced yet.
Mason decided he needed to assert his role. He was still Celeste’s husband, after all
He strode over and tried to grab Celeste’s hand. The moment he touched her, she pulled away sharply.
Celeste’s face was filled with disgust. She had no desire to talk to Mason, and her good mood was completely ruined.
Without a word. Celeste put her helmet back on. Im going for another few laps.”
Michael started toward his bike. “Ill join you, Celeste.”
But before he could even mount his bike, Mason yanked him back, taking his helmet and bike for himself.
In no time, Mason was seated on the motorcycle, looking ready to race.
Everyone stood there in shock as Mason revved the engine and took off after Celeste
“Hey! That’s my bike, my helmet Michael yelled in frustration.
Celeste noticed Mason gaining on her through the rearview mirror. He was close–too close.
The image of a man
a man in a suit, wearing a brightly colored helmet, trailing her was absurd.
Of course, it was Mason.
Who else would be racing in a suit?
him!
Celeste had no idea Mason knew how to ride a motorcycle, but she was determined to lose him. She veered off onto a more dangerous route.
Mason followed her without hesitation.
The route was known for being treacherous. Few racers dared to take it because of the obstacles.
But Celeste didnt slow down, her skills honed from years of experience.
What Mason didn’t know was that Geleite hail oner tr

He hadn’t expected her to push the limits like that. Mason wanted to tell her to stop it was too risky at this speed.
