Chapter 7
“You did it on purpose.”
Alpha Cynthia stormed in, her face flushed with fury, her voice trembling with barely contained rage.
I found it amusing and glanced up at her.
“So what if I did?”
“Don’t get cocky, Emma. Soon, you’ll have nothing. Everything you own will be mine!”
“Everything? What do I even have? I never had anything to begin with.”
Alpha Cynthia yanked at my blanket, her eyes devoid of their usual innocence and liveliness, now filled with jealousy and

madness.
“What don’t you have?” she spat, her voice rising with every word. “You have wealthy and powerful alpha parents. You’re the rightful heiress of The Ambersy Pack. And let’s not forget that pretty face of yours. Even my Alpha Kennard is drawn to you!”
She leaned closer, her expression twisting into something truly vile.
“If I weren’t afraid of going too far and getting caught, do you think I’d have spared that face of yours?”
I studied her with feigned cluelessness, tilting my head.
“Spare me from what, Cynthia?”
Her wicked grin widened, her voice dropping

to a menacing whisper.
“You don’t know, do you, sister? The rogues who kidnapped us? I arranged for them.”
“To test who was more important to Alpha Kennard,” she continued, her tone almost gleeful, “you or me. I had to do it. And you saw the outcome, didn’t you?”
“Don’t blame me,” she said, straightening up with an air of mock sympathy. “You’ll be kicked out of The Ambersy Pack soon anyway, reduced to nothing but a rogue. I might even toss you some money so you won’t starve.”
I quickly spotted a flaw in her words.
“““Why would I be kicked out of The Ambersy Pack?”

She hesitated, realizing her slip–up, a flicker of regret in her eyes quickly replaced by
smugness.
“It doesn’t matter if I tell you now.” She waved her hand dismissively. “You should know we both have the inheritance rights to The Ambersy Pack, right?”
I remained silent, though her words struck a
nerve.
True, technically, we both had a claim. But given my parents‘ blatant favoritism toward Cynthia, my chances of becoming alpha were slim to none.
“Those should have been mine!” she
snapped, her jealousy bubbling over. “Why should you get a share just because you’re related by blood?”

“It’s unfair!” she hissed. “So, I got in touch with Dad’s beta and quietly moved The Ambersy Pack’s funds with him.”
Her grin was triumphant now, her eyes glittering with malice.
“Even if you become The Ambersy Pack’s alpha, you won’t see a single penny. When Alpha Kennard finds out, he’ll definitely change his mind and come back to me!”
Her grin was triumphant now, her eyes glittering with malice.
“He’s only with you for your looks and your supposed heiress status!”

How could someone be so foolish, betraying

the parents who’ve supported her for over twenty years for a man?
Using such lowly tactics.
Truly, utterly foolish.
I put on a shocked and frightened face.
“How could you do this, Cynthia?” I whispered, my voice trembling. “What am I supposed to do now?”
She paused, satisfied with my apparent distress.
“Don’t worry, sister,” she said, her tone dripping with condescension. “When the time comes, if you beg me on your knees, I might just help you.”
Inside, I scoffed disdainfully, but on the

outside, I let a few tears fall.
Watching Alpha Cynthia leave triumphantly, I retrieved a tiny camera from the eye of the stuffed toy beside my bed and clenched it in my hand.
My plan was just beginning.
