Chapter 23 No Way Out
Corey panicked too. With Darren caught, he was as good as dead. They would be next.
He looked at the flustered Mr. Hyde, then dropped to his knees with a loud thud.

“Mr. Hyde, please save me. I’m begging you, please! I only hurt one person, I didn’t touch her daughter. And I… I was out in less than a minute. Her crying freaked me out, I swear. It wasn’t even a minute…”
Back then, when he had been forced onto that woman, the girl next to her had already fainted. The woman’s gut–wrenching cries had rattled him. He hadn’t wanted to do it either, but he hadn’t wanted to be laughed at.
Still, it was true he had gotten off her in less than a minute. He had even tried to comfort her, telling her crying would only make things worse, telling her it would be better to end it herself than suffer more.
“Shut the hell up! You think this is the time to whine about that?” Mr. Hyde snapped, pacing the room, trying to think.
Samuel wasn’t someone to underestimate. For years, Mr. Hyde had avoided crossing him, just to stay alive.
Now that everything was exposed, knowing Samuel’s nature, there was no way he would let them go.
Corey was completely falling apart.
He didn’t dare step outside. At least here, Mr. Hyde could protect him..
If he went out alone, he was dead for sure,
It had been Darren and Corey who had started everything. They had been the ones who suggested torturing the women.
“Mr. Hyde, think of something. Maybe we should run. Get far away and come back once things settle down.”
Corey didn’t want to die. If he had to run, following Mr. Hyde would at least guarantee he lived in comfort.
“Run? Are you stupid? Where the hell would we run to? Every road leads to death! Do you have any idea how big Samuel’s network is? It’s not just Dravia. Even if we flee abroad, he’ll still find us.” Mr. Ilyde’s voice roared through the room.
“But Mr. Hyde, we can’t just sit here and wait to die! I don’t want to die. I haven’t even gotten married or had kids yet. I’m the only son in my family. I can’t let the line die with me!” Corey bawled, tears streaming down his face.
Mr. Hyde wanted to shoot him right then and there.
Was this idiot seriously thinking about marriage and kids right now?
What a goddamn moron.
“You say one more word, and I’ll put a bullet in your head!” Mr. Hyde barked, rushing to have the bodyguards outside get ready.
Corey backed away, shaking his head frantically.
“All these years, I’ve been repenting. I can’t even sleep when I think about them.”
He had once had a girlfriend he loved deeply. Five years ago, when she got pregnant, he had forced her to get an abortion. She left him afterward.
Mr. Hyde scoffed, looking at him with disgust.
“What, you think you’re some kind of saint now? You were the one who caught them. You think you can just wash your hands clean? You’re scared of Samuel now, so you’re trying to pretend you’re innocent? Dream on.”
Corey finally gave up.
It was true. Back then, when Samuel fled, he had hidden his wife and daughter somewhere safe. Corey had found out and reported it to the boss immediately.

At the time, he hadn’t thought much of it. He just wanted to impress the boss. They had captured the wife and daughter because of him.
He had thought they’d just use them to lure Samuel out.
He hadn’t known they would…
Mr. Hyde flopped into a chair, not caring what Corey thought anymore. His mind was racing for a way out.
They couldn’t stay in Dravia. They had to flee to another country.
Samuel’s influence stretched far, but not everywhere.
Luckily, Mr. Hyde still had a few business partners in Zarovia. He could ask them for help and hide out for a while.
But before he escaped, there was one thing he had to take care of.
He grabbed a gun from a bodyguard and pointed it at Corey.
That was when Corey finally understood that his life was worthless.
Meanwhile, Samuel was racing toward the villa with his men.
His hands clenched and unclenched, shaking with rage. These bastards would pay. He would make sure they suffered a fate worse than death.
His wife had been so kind, so beautiful, and had ended up like that.
His daughter had been so adorable, only fourteen, and those animals hadn’t even spared her….
A man as strong and proud as Samuel now had red–rimmed eyes. The grief of a husband and father crushed him.
The thought of what they had endured made the air feel like ice.
His wife and daughter had been so helpless, so full of pain.
Samuel forced himself to stay calm. He had to make them pay with their lives.
Inside the villa.
Mr. Hyde was just about to shoot Corey when someone burst in.
“Boss! A bunch of cars are headed straight for the villa!”
Mr Hyde lowered the gun.
They were coming a lot faster than he had expected. This area, at the border between Dravia and Dimsdale, was chaotic- full of riots and violence.
That was exactly why he had chosen to live here. His villa wasn’t guarded by amateurs. His men were all mercenaries. Samuel might be strong.
But Mr. Hyde wasn’t some scared rookie either. Taking him down wouldn’t be easy.

“How many vehicles?”
“Three.”

Mr. Hyde sneered. “They really think that little of me? Just three cars, and they think they can take me on? They’re looking for death.”
He was determined to make sure they never left alive. Finally, he would be rid of this nightmare once and for all.
What he didn’t know was that those three vehicles were just a smokescreen from Samuel.
At that very moment, Samuel’s elite forces had already quietly infiltrated his territory.
From one of the cars, someone remotely hacked into the villa’s surveillance systern and systematically disabled it, one section at a time.
They didn’t encounter resistance until they reached the second villa, where a mercenary finally spotted them.
Gunfire erupted inside the compound.
Hearing the commotion outside, Mr. Hyde’s heart sank.
Faster than he had anticipated.
Samuel had come fully prepared.
Mr. Hyde grabbed a gun, yanked open a drawer to pull out a bag, and under the cover of his bodyguards, charged toward the
exit.
As long as the green hills remain, there will always be wood to burn. I need to survive first.
“Boss, they’re already headed this way! We need to retreat now!” A mercenary stumbled in, clutching a bleeding wrist.
“Fuck!” Mr. Hyde cursed. This had been his safest stronghold in Dravia, and now it was falling. Soon it would be nothing but ruins.
“Hold them off! Samuel only sent three cars – he can’t have that many people. Call every brother we have to fight back!”
“Yes, sir!” a bodyguard answered before rushing out.
There were still piles of money and valuables inside the villa, but now, none of it could be saved.
Screw it.
Survival comes first.
Without wasting another second, Mr. Hyde and a few guards made for a different exit.
Seeing the situation fall apart, Corey gritted his teeth and tried to stick close to Mr. Hyde.
He was just an ordinary thug. He had seen violence before, but never anything this intense.
And now it was Samuel, who was out for their lives. He couldn’t let himself fall into Samuel’s hands.
Mr. Hyde noticed Corey following behind. His eyes flashed cold.
He didn’t give a damn about that useless piece of trash. Dragging Corey along would only slow him down.
He should’ve just shot him earlier and saved himself the trouble.
Mr. Hyde couldn’t help but suspect – Corey had shown up, and then, out of nowhere, Samuel’s people had found this place.
