Our wedding day arrived, filled with warmth and joy from our family and friends. I couldn’t stop smiling, even when I saw Rena at the back, nursing her drink but watching me. I glanced away.
Jake called me over, “Time to toast, Ty.”
Eliza came up beside me, whispering, “Not too much, okay? We’ll have a private toast later.” Looking at her in her stunning black gown, I laughed.
She was my one–of–a–kind happiness.
By the end of the night, Sammy pulled me aside. “Rena wants you to know she’s sorry. She’d give everything to make it up to you if there were a next time.”
I watched Eliza’s expression darken and kissed her. “There’s no ‘next time‘ with her. Even if there were, I’d choose Eliza.”
