Chapter 11
I left the examination room, my body feeling drained of all strength, as if I could vanish into thin air at any moment. The hope I’d clung to for so long slowly began to fade.
When I regained my senses, Beta Andrew was standing in front of me, worry etched across his face.
“Take me away, right now!” I said urgently, gripping the hem of his shirt. I handed him the report.
“The doctor said I only have a month left.”
I paused, then continued, my voice barely above a whisper, “Beta Andrew, I don’t want to waste the rest of my life in a hospital. Take me away, anywhere… just let me leave

the Shadow Pack.”
He continued to stare at me, his eyes filled with sympathy and a hint of guilt.
“You can’t leave,” he said.
It was Alpha Lawrence’s voice! I immediately curled up, retreating to the corner of the wall.
Alpha Lawrence slowly walked up to the bedside, his expression mocking, full of disdain for everything around him.
“Luna Emma, without my permission, you’ll never leave this pack, not even in death.”
I trembled, my gaze locked on beta Andrew.
It dawned on me then–his guilt wasn’t for me. He’d only been following Alpha Lawrence’s orders.

Without Alpha Lawrence’s consent, how could he have visited me so freely? How could he have reported my condition to the Alpha at any time?
“Next month, Diana and I will be getting married. You must attend. before that, We will dissolve the mate bond to the Werewolf Council.”
I continued to glare at Beta Andrew with hatred until Alpha Lawrence left.
He never once dared to meet my eyes.
Liars. They were all liars.
Why couldn’t they just let me go? I had never hated anyone so much in my life.
But more than that, I hated myself. I was so

weak, even death couldn’t offer me release.
As the day of their wedding approached, I remained trapped in the hospital room, numb, passing the days with a sense of detachment.
Guards stood at my side, and Alpha Lawrence’s surveillance grew bolder by the day.
It wasn’t until the day before the wedding that I was finally allowed to return Packhouse.
By then, my body had grown so frail that I couldn’t stand for long without needing to
rest.
My weak, emaciated form seemed like it could be blown away by a mere breeze.

Seeing me like this, Alpha Lawrence couldn’t help but look at me in surprise, though it was clear he didn’t care how I ended up this way.
“The altar is ready. We’re going to break the mate bond now.” His voice remained cold, imperious, without room
for objection.
“Alpha Lawrence, if We are now dissolving our mate bond., I’ll die,” I said calmly, accepting the inevitable consequences.
“So what? We were wrong from the beginning.”
“Yes,” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. “We never should have been together.”
With a shaky sigh, I struggled to stand, my sickly appearance revealing just how weak and drained I had become.

I followed Alpha Lawrence to the altar.
“I, Alpha Lawrence Ogley, reject you, Luna Emma Corrin, as my mate.” Alpha Lawrence’s voice rang out loudly.
“I, Emma Corrin, accept your rejection.” Tears welled up in my eyes.
