Chapter 2
“Ah…”
The pain in my hand pulled me back to the present.
“If it hurts, you can say so. No need to hold it in,” beta Andrew said, gently applying medicine.
“It’s fine, I’m used to it,” I replied, though the countless wounds from the past years had blurred together. Luckily, Alpha Lawrence had never been too harsh–if he had, I might have already died.
“The gathering on Saturday… Diana will be there,” he reminded me.
Everyone in the pack knew that–Diana

was Alpha Lawrence’s true love. Normally, I tried to avoid showing up when she was around, but this time, it was different. For our anniversary, Alpha Lawrence had no choice but to bring me.
The day of the gathering arrived quickly, and beta Andrew brought me the dress he’d prepared for me first thing.
It was an exquisite yellow satin gown, adorned at the waist with red gemstones, the skirt sprinkled with delicate diamonds that gave the whole dress a regal, elegant air.
The evening of the party arrived, but Alpha Lawrence never showed his face.
Then, a stir rippled through the crowd.
It was Diana.

I turned my gaze to her, and my breath caught–she and I were wearing the same dress!
The color, the style, even the placement of the jewels–everything was identical. A chill ran through me, and I instinctively searched the crowd for Alpha Lawrence, hoping for even a shred of protection.
At that moment, Diana reached out and grabbed my gown.
“Luna Emma, stop looking for him. He’s not here,” Diana said, seeing right through my thoughts.
“What are you doing? This is a party, everyone’s watching,” I forced myself to stay calm.
This dress was custom–made for me by

Alpha Lawrence. Why are you wearing the same one?”
“I don’t know. This is the one he gave me… Ah!” She slapped me across the face.
“Stop lying! Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been up to. You’ve been scheming to seduce Alpha Lawrence, trying to take my place. Now you dare to wear the same dress as me?” She gripped my throat with a force so strong I couldn’t fight back.
In a moment of desperation, I bit her.
“Ah!” She finally released her grip, and I gasped for breath.
“You little bitch, you dare bite me?” Diana hissed, her teeth clenched. She immediately called over two people, who pinned me to the ground and began tearing at my clothes.

“Please… let go of me, I beg you, don’t do this.” Fear gripped me, and I pleaded for them to stop.
“I’m going to show everyone just how filthy an wolfless like you really is.” Diana didn’t stop, her hands relentless despite my desperate begging.
“Please, I didn’t seduce Alpha Lawrence, I’m not a slut–ah…”
In the struggle, she ripped my skirt apart, exposing my pale thighs to the onlookers.
The crowd surrounded us, yet no one intervened. I screamed helplessly.
I was the one who was married to Alpha Lawrence, yet there I was, being humiliated like this.

Just as I was on the verge of losing consciousness, I heard the sharp echo of hurried footsteps approaching.
“Let her go, or I’ll make you regret it.”
At the sound of the voice, the two who had been holding me let go. I immediately covered myself in the scraps of fabric that remained.
It was Alpha Lawrence. He yanked Diana up by the arm.
“What the hell are you doing?” His voice was cold, and though I couldn’t be sure, I thought I saw a flicker of anger in his eyes.
Diana, unfazed, replied confidently, “I was just teaching your Luna a lesson. Wearing the same dress as someone else is impolite.”

She showed no remorse as she faced Alpha Lawrence’s wrath.
“That’s enough. There are too many people here.
Don’t make this worse,” Alpha Lawrence said, dragging her toward the door. He dismissed the crowd, but before leaving, he returned and tossed his coat over me.
“Put this on. You’re embarrassing.”
