Chapter 7
“Luna Emma, wake up, Luna Emma?” Beta Andrew’s urgent voice broke through the haze.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the relief on his face as he let out a breath he’d been
holding.
I looked around, realizing I was in a pack’s hospital. The harsh smell of disinfectant made me feel nauseous.
“Wasn’t I supposed to be in the basement? How did I end up here?” I tried to sit up, but I was too weak to move.
“Don’t move, lie down,” Beta Andrew insisted. “The pack doctor said you’re extremely weak and need rest, and…” He hesitated, his face

troubled.
“What is it? Just tell me. At this point, I don’t care what else there is to break me.”
He turned and handed me a sheet of paper. “You’re pregnant. Seven weeks along.”
I stared at the ultrasound image on the report. A tiny shadow, barely visible.
“I’m pregnant? How could I be pregnant? No, I can’t… I can’t keep this puppy! It can’t be born!” I screamed, frantically pressing my hands against my stomach, as if I could erase the life growing inside me.
“Luna Emma, calm down, please, don’t do this,” Beta Andrew whispered urgently, pulling me into his arms and protecting my stomach.

In a surge of desperation, I bit down hard on his arm.
He let out a muffled groan of pain but didn’t pull away, instead holding me even tighter. His warm hand gently stroked my hair as he murmured softly, trying to soothe me.
I released my grip, tears choking me, unable to speak.
Beta Andrew explained that my body had always been weak, and after being in the damp, miserable basement for so long, my condition was too fragile for a healthy
pregnancy.
He said I’d need to take extreme care of myself, maintain a calm state of mind, and keep my spirits up if I wanted to carry the puppy to term.

Before he left, he urged me to take care of myself and assured me that if I needed anything, he would come by and check on me from time to time.
With his reassurance, my emotions began to settle. Just as I was about to close my eyes and try to rest, I caught the unmistakable scent of Alpha Lawrence in the air.
I turned and found him standing at the foot. of my hospital bed, though I hadn’t heard him approach.
Maybe it was the time apart, or the way things had changed, but when I looked at him, I felt strangely distant.
“You’re pregnant?” His voice was flat, his eyes unreadable.
I gave a soft reply, “Didn’t you already know?”

It was because I was pregnant that they’d brought me out of the basement to treat me. If not, by the time he saw me again, it would have been only my lifeless body.
“Did you refuse the medication on purpose?” His voice grew harsher, his gaze cold.
“Do you think I was joking when I told you what would happen?”
“If you terminate the pregnancy now, I’ll spare you and won’t let you become a Rogue,” he offered, trying to use the unborn puppy as a bargaining chip.
“Then exile me,” I said firmly, meeting his eyes without fear. “I’ll raise the puppy on my
own.”
“Luna Emma, have you lost your mind?” His

voice turned cruel. “My puppy can’t become a Rogue. You’d better agree to this, or else don’t even think about leaving here alive.”
Without another word, he grabbed my throat, cutting off my air.
The suffocating pressure made it impossible to fight back, but through my struggles, I managed to say, “I… I’m still… still the Luna. If I die, everyone will question it. And if Werewolf Council find out I was pregnant… do you think they’ll just let it go?”
