Chapter 9
“A pitiful woman like you has the nerve to know someone like Charlotte?” Amelia spat, her voice dripping with disdain.
Milo’s scornful gaze swept over me as he nodded in agreement. “Just look at you -poor and pathetic. Not even fit to carry Charlotte’s shoes!”
“Where’s security?” he barked, scanning the room. “Get this crazy woman out of here this instant! I won’t have her ruin my wedding with Charlotte!”
At his command, the hotel security surrounded me, ready to escort me out. Just as they approached, a crisp, commanding female voice pierced through the tension. “I dare you to touch my mother!”

All eyes turned toward the source of the voice.
There, in the center of the hall, stood Charlotte, adorned in a bespoke wedding gown, her beauty almost otherworldly.
Her face resembled a lotus blossom, her brows delicately formed, her presence radiating an unparalleled elegance. She seemed to have descended from the heavens, bewitching everyone with her
grace.
Yet it wasn’t her stunning beauty that left everyone speechless–it was her declaration.
Milo was the first to recover, stepping forward in bewilderment. “Charlotte, why are you calling Seraphina ‘mom‘?”

Amelia, scrambling to regain control, offered a strained smile as she attempted to flatter, “Yes, Charlotte, I’m Milo’s mother. Seraphina is just a foolish woman with money–oh,
wait, she doesn’t even have money now, just the foolishness.”
“Let’s not confuse things, dear!” she added hastily.
Maxwell nodded fervently, chiming in, “Yes, Charlotte, perhaps you’re not familiar with our situation. Seraphina may have raised Milo, but she’s not related to him by blood.”
“You don’t need to show her kindness just because of Milo. She doesn’t merit your respect.”
With their words, comprehension slowly dawned on the guests.

“It seems Charlotte mistook Seraphina for her future mother–in–law, which explains her sending the wrong invitation.”
“Ah, that clarifies it. I was curious how Seraphina suddenly had a daughter.”
“Now she’s going to be humiliated.”
“I can hardly watch this unfold.”
The livestream chat erupted, viewers breathlessly anticipating the moment i would cease idolizing Amelia and her family.
Yet in that instant, Charlotte’s demeanor turned icy, her eyes authoritative as they met Milo’s. With the room’s attention on her, she approached me deliberately.
Her expression respectful, she spoke softly, “Mom, thank you for the years of guidance

and nurturing”
“I once pledged to meet you at the top. I’ll do all I can to repay you for your love and care.”
“I’m here today to fulfill that promise.”
Initially, Charlotte’s words might have been perceived as a misunderstanding. But now, her intentions were unmistakable. There was no confusion; she had chosen me with intent.
This revelation left everyone truly stunned. The livestream chat buzzed with curiosity.
“Wait, is Seraphina really Charlotte’s mother?”
“Impossible! Hasn’t Seraphina devoted twenty years to raising someone else’s son? How could she suddenly have such a

daughter?”
“Exactly! And this daughter is so remarkable! Compared to that good–for–nothing son, Charlotte is like night and day!”
“Incredible, Seraphina has kept this under wraps for so long!”
“Is the woman who endured so much finally making her move?!”
The crowd reeled in disbelief. Meanwhile, Maxwell, his face a shade of livid purple, seethed, “So, Seraphina, you’ve really kept this buried, huh? You posed as loyal to me, and now you have a hidden daughter?”
