“What’s going on?” someone whispered. “Why
are the police looking for Sarah?”
At the police station, I finally understood.
Brittany and her simps had a group chat. She’d
send them flirty messages and suggestive
selfies. Last night, Jessica woke up to use the
bathroom and saw Brittany’s tablet. There was
a selfie of Brittany, and Jessica thought the
black–and–white checkered pattern in the
background looked exactly like her bedsheet…
She couldn’t resist. She peeked. And there it
was. Brittany’s selfie. But in the background,
clear as day, was a picture of Jessica changing.
And not just Jessica. Me too.
く
The guys in the group chat went wild.
“Damn, Sarah’s got a nice ass. Never would’ve
guessed.”
“Jessica’s got back dimples. Heard those are a
sign…” followed by a string of crude emojis.
Jessica saw red. She dragged Brittany out of
bed and the fight spilled into the hallway.
So that’s what happened. I was furious. I
couldn’t believe Brittany would do something so
disgusting.
Our RA tried to downplay it. “It was an
accident, she wasn’t paying attention…”
Bullshit. “She wasn’t paying attention when she
took the pictures, and she wasn’t paying
attention when those guys were making
comments? She was deliberately sharing our
private photos! To impress those creeps!” I
slammed my hand on the table.

Jessica was still seething. “She’s such a slut! No self–respect!”
If Jessica hadn’t caught it, who knows where those photos would have ended up. I
shuddered, thinking of online harassment and revenge porn.
Jessica and I refused to drop the charges. Brittany started crying at the police station. “I didn’t mean to, I swear! I’ll get on my knees and beg you, just please…” She sobbed, apologizing profusely. The guys who’d made the comments glared at us, like we were the bad guys. It was infuriating.
The RA, looking annoyed, told us to drop it. “You’re all classmates. Don’t make a big deal
out of this.”
Jessica and I were shaking with rage. We

insisted on pressing charges. The officer taking our statements looked at Brittany and the guys with disgust. Unfortunately, the incident hadn’t spread far enough for serious charges. A
female officer spoke to us privately, saying
they’d push for disciplinary action from the university.
In the end, Brittany and the guys received a major demerit on their records. It wasn’t enough, but it was the best we could get.
I decided not to move out. I’d fight Brittany on her own turf. Running away wouldn’t change anything. I needed to take her down, strip her of her power to hurt me.
So, whenever anyone asked about our dorm, I told them everything. The university’s
disciplinary notice came out soon after. The
wording was vague, but everyone understood.
Brittany, the queen of the Simp List, had shared
her roommates‘ private photos to appease her

followers. Her image crumbled. The list was no
longer a joke, a symbol of her power. It was a
mark of shame.
Ethan, surprisingly, started appearing by
Brittany’s side constantly. Jessica rolled her
eyes. “Birds of a feather…”
