Suddenly, a bunch of snakes started slithering their way. Out of nowhere, a whip–like shadow sliced through the air and longed right at them!
“Watch out!” Alaric shouted, yanking Kian out of the way just in time. He quickly whipped out some snake repellent and sprayed it like a madman.
Kian went pale with fear. The snake, after missing its mark, coiled up and took a few steps back, ready to strike again. Its tongue flicked in and out, making hissing sounds like it was pissed off at them for being there,
Hayra, drenched in sweat, used a tool to fend off a few more snakes around him. Julian, though not attacked, looked pretty shaken up too.

Meanwhile, Tamsin, sitting in the car, asked the driver, “Where did Mr. Russell and the others go?”
“Probably the snake pit,” the driver replied hesitantly. He’d been driving around Skyview City long enough to know the local legends.
Hearing this. Tamsin felt a chill run down her spine and a wave of nausea. But if Cecilia got bitten badly and didn’t get treated in time, she was a goner.
It would be perfect if Cecilia d
died! Julian wouldn’t have to fake it with her anymore, and Tamsin could finally become Mrs. Russell!
Thinking about this, Tamsin’s face twisted into a malicious smile as she stared at the bag nearby.
Back in the snake pit, the four of them reached the top of the room without any more trouble. The place was so well–hidden, it was almost impossible to find.
Hayes pointed to a metal plate, “Lift this up, and we can get Ms. Medici out. But if we mess up, she’ll fall.”
Alaric shot Hayes another glare and gave Julian a look.
Kian, still retching on the side, felt like he was going to lose it and wanted to kill Hayes right then and there.
Even though Julian didn’t like Alaric, he had no choice but to help him lift the metal plate in this critical moment.
The plate was heavy, and with Cecilia’s weight on it, Julian and Alaric struggled to lift it.
After a while, Cecilia’s head popped up, and they finally felt some relief. They pulled together, and the plate reached its limit, bringing half of Cecilia’s body up with it.
Alaric, being closer to Cecilia, carefully
ally lifted her off the plate.
Kian, standing nearby, wiped the cold sweat from his face. If Alaric had slipped, they would’ve been done for, and not even God could save them.
Cecilia’s body was ice cold. As Alaric held her, he noticed she was trembling slightly, murmuring, “I’m so scared, Julian… so scared…” Her low, mechanical murmur echoed in Alaric’s war. Her eyes were empty, her face pale, like she had lost her soul.
If she hadn’t already been through hell, she would’ve had a mental breakdown by now.
Seeing this.
Alaric’s
darkened, and he gently patted Cecilia’s back, his tone soft and gentle. “It’s okay now, it’s all over. Just rest.”
As Cecilia’s breathing steadied, Alaric handed her back to Julian and said coldly, “Take care of her.” Seving that Cecilia was safe, Hayes also breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, the plate was smooth, and they had sprayed a lot of snake repellent, so the snakes couldn’t climb up. If Cecilia had been bitten… he would have been the one lowered into the pit.
But just as he was thinking this, Alaric suddenly approached him, with Kian holding a rope behind him.
Seeing this, Hayes immediately panicked. “Mr. Percy, have mercy! If I had known you and Ms. Medici were acquainted, I wouldn’t have dared to touch her even if I had the guts!” Hayes knelt down, his voice home, “Mr. Percy, please be merciful and let me go.”
Alaric didn’t waste words on him and continued his actions. Before long. Hayes was tied up, and Alaric hung him on the same heavy hook that had held

Cecilia, completely ignoring Hayes heart–wrenching cries for help.
Alanc said coldly, “Go down and keep them company.”
“No, please! Im sorry, Mr. Percy, I beg you! I’ll do anything, please don’t!” Hayes glanced at the snakes below, his limbs went weak, his heart pounded, and tears and snot flowed together. He was so scared that he wet his pants.
“Alright.” Alaric’s lips curled into a dangerous smile as he took out a small knife and cut the rope halfway, leaving Hayes dangling precariously. “That’s it.”
