Chapter 22 The Subject of Cecilia’s Scandal is Lancelot–2
Alright, I’ll stop guessing. Cecilia said softly, “You do care about Cedric.”
She remembered that in her previous life, Cedric overworked himself and died young. At Cedric’s funeral, the usually unflappable Lancelot had sobbed uncontrollably, terrifying everyone present. After damaging his vocal cords, he’d locked himself away for three days, emerging only for the burial, his voice a rasp, a changed man.
Later, Lancelot became a formidable figure in the business world. Under his leadership, the Elikin family thrived even more than when Cedric was alive.
It was clear Lancelot had downplayed his own abilities to avoid competing with his brother.
The bond between Cedric and Lancelot was not as weak as outsiders thought. Cedric hadn’t sent Lancelot abroad because he was a loose cannon; he loved him, but his love was quiet and understated.
“Stop with the nonsense, Lancelot glared at Cecilia. “Aren’t you afraid of me?‘
“Why should I be afraid of you?” Cecilia looked at him sincerely. ‘I can tell the difference between real malice and your antics. Those are nothing compared to the guys who kidnapped
me.”
Lancelot frowned. “You really live a tough life, Mrs. Russell!”
“Well, until the divorce papers are signed, I’m still Mrs. Russell,” Cecilia said nonchalantly.
“Doesn’t it bother you?” Lancelot pursed his lips, ‘I’ve been keeping up with the news even though I just got back. You’ve endured so much for him, yet he’s flirting with that woman. Doesn’t it bother you at all?‘
Cecilia didn’t answer him and just shook her head.
“Alright, that’s it. What do you want to eat? I’ll treat you,” Lancelot glanced at her and pushed the menu on the table towards her, “Order whatever you want.”
Cecilia’s eyes lit up. “Thank you, Mr. Elikin.”
After a hearty meal, Cecilia returned to the Russell Villa. She drank that bitter and astringent medicine again, frowning in discomfort. Then she read some economics textbooks in her room before falling into a deep sleep.
In the evening, Cecilia was awakened by the incessant ringing of her phone.
Half–asleep, she answered the call with a hint of annoyance. “Hello?‘
On the other end, Alaric paused for a moment before chuckling softly. “Still able to sleep now?”
“What’s up?” Cecilia’s tone softened a bit upon hearing Alaric’s voice.
“Check the news first. I’ll wait.” “Okay.” Cecilia set the phone aside and picked up her backup phone to check the latest news.
Sure enough, a bold headline caught her eye: [MRS. RUSSELL CAUGHT IN BROAD DAYLIGHT AFFAIR AT LOVE HOTEL.]
Cecilia’s hand froze, her mind blanking out for a moment, and her breathing became erratic.
‘Are you okay?‘ Alaric’s voice came through.
I’m fine,” Cecilia said while rubbing her temple. She had to admit, the medicine did help; her headache wasn’t as bad.
“Don’t worry. It’s a private account, no credibility,” Alaric said, ‘Kian will find out who did this soon.”
Tatum’s scooter is so fast. Can he catch up?” Cecilia sighed.
Alaric was a bit puzzled. “Tatum?”
“The person in the photo is her,” Cecilia paused. “But the one who arranged the meeting was Lancelot.”
Alaric chuckled lowly, but Cecilia just found his smile a bit unsettling.
Alaric said, “Lancelot? Well, it’s fine. Just have a good rest.
“What do you mean?” Cecilia didn’t get it at first, then she suddenly realized something. “I get it! If the Elikin family finds out that the person I met was Lancelot, Cedric will likely suppress this matter.” Alaric smiled, “Exactly.”
The Elikin family had always been low–key in Skyview City. No matter how much of a rogue Lancelot was, he had never caused such a scandal.

Moreover, this matter involved the Russell family.
If it got out that Lancelot and Julian’s married wife went to a love hotel, both families‘ reputations in Skyview City would be ruined.
Alark continued. “Both the Elikin family and the Russell family won’t let this slide. The person who posted this will be found by tomorrow. You don’t need to worry about anything. Ju focus on your studies. If you’re tired, get some more rest,”
“Thank you,” Cecilia’s tension eased, and she hung up the phone.
She ruffled her bangs, freshened up, and went downstairs, only to meet Julian’s gaze as he returned.
Julian’s cold eyes hid a simmering anger.
