Chapter 25 The Person Who Released the Fake News is Tamsin–2
That’s not a good idea, Tamsin said. “He’s a big shot, L…
Falkon interrupted her “Go on, our happiness is in your hands!”
Under their urging. Tamsin reluctantly agreed.
At that moment, Kian came running over, out of breath. “I give up on you! I didn’t even finish my class!”
“They don’t need you to teach them; they can study on their own,” Alaric said nonchalantly.
Kian wanted to argue but realized Alaric was right, so he kept quiet. As Kian was about to get in the car, Tamsin walked over, wringing her hands.
She looked a bit embarrassed. “Mr. Percy, I have something to say to you.”
“Who is she? Do you know her?” Kian asked Alaric, looking at Tamsin, feeling she looked familiar but couldn’t place her.
Alaric gave a cryptic smile. “How could I not?”
He turned to Tamsin, “Get in the car; we’ll talk.”
Tamsin blinked, her face full of disbelief and excitement. She gave her two roommates an ‘OK‘ gesture and got into the car with a smile.
Kian felt a chill down his spine. Alaric only wore that particular smile in one situation where he had murderous intent towards the girl.
Sure enough, Alaric put the top down, ensuring no one else could hear their conversation. “Do you know what the most poisonous creatures in the world are?”
“Rattlesnake?” Tamsin was unsure why Alaric was asking this. She thought of the snake pit she visited last time and hesitated.
“Besides venomous snakes, there’s the box jellyfish, blue–ringed octopus, stonefish, and so on,” Alaric said. “I’m telling you this to remind you to stop messing with Cecilia. Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve done.”
“Mr. Percy, what are you talking about?” Tamsin’s face turned pale with fear.
Alaric remained unmoved. He took off his sunglasses, revealing eyes filled with murderous intent. “I’m quite curious to see which of these creatures causes the most painful death. But their venom is too strong. One by one, you might not survive. If you can’t be saved, that would be too boring.”
The threat in his words was unmistakable, and the tension in the car was palpable. Kian’s face turned pale, and Tamsin’s lips trembled with fear.
“Mr. Percy, I know I was wrong. I didn’t mean to spread rumors about Cecilia. The fake news was indeed posted by me. I’m sorry.” Tamsin lowered her head, her voice trembling, directly admitting to what she had done.
She didn’t dare to provoke Alaric. He was a dangerous man who didn’t value his life! If he said it, he would do it.
Seeing Tamsin confess, Alaric didn’t want to share the car with her any longer. “Get out.”
Hearing this, Tamsin hurriedly opened the car door. Her face was pale, and she almost tripped as she got out, stumbling away. When Fallon and Gia saw Tamsin’s ghostly appearance, they were frightened too and didn’t bring up the contact information again.
After she left, Alaric put the top back up. He jumped into the back seat and kicked Kian. “What are you waiting for? Drive.”
Kian was still in shock. “Where to?”
Alaric said, “The Russell Mansion.”
Got it.” He slapped his forehead, remembering they were supposed to find Cecilia.
Driving the convertible was exhilarating, and Kian quickly pushed the terrifying images out of his mind.
As they neared the Russell Mansion, Cecilia returned Alaric’s call.
Were almost at your place. We’ll talk then. Alaric’s mood improved significantly.
“Okay. Cecilia hung up, changed her clothes, and freshened up without putting on makeup before heading downstairs. She had slept soundly that morning, not waking up to the alarm or phone calls.
When she woke up, she carefully checked her body and recalled the events of the previous day. Confirming nothing intimate had happened with Julian, she felt relieved.

Alaric and Kian arrived shortly after.
‘Here you go Alaric handed her a phone with a recording on the screen.
Cecilia took the phone, listened to the recording, and frowned. ‘I really didn’t expect it to be Tamsin.”
in Cecilia’s previous life, Tamsin was favored by Julian, and she and Tamsin didn’t interact much. She hadn’t intentionally framed Tamsin; they lived their own lives.
However, this life had too many unexpected events. Even yesterday, she hadn’t anticipated Brielle putting an aphrodisiac in the cake.
She should have been more cautious. It wasn’t surprising that Tamsin was the one framing her.
Is she the Tamsin I found out about? No wonder.” Kian’s reaction was a bit slow, but he suddenly understood, glancing at Alaric.
During the conversation, Kian hadn’t heard the latter part and was puzzled about Alaric’s murderous intent.
Kian suddenly remembered Julian calling the female student by the name of Tamsin. “So, the student Julian likes is her?”
Cecilia remained silent.
Alaric caught the fleeting look of disappointment on Cecilia’s face.
“By the way, what did you say in the muted part?‘ Cecilia asked, putting on a neutral expression.
The recording was short, and Alaric had muted a large portion.
“Nothing much.” Alaric smiled and handed her a stack of documents. “Here’s what you asked for; all done.”
‘You’re efficient as always.” Cecilia took the documents, smiling happily. “Thanks.”

Chapter 26 Cecilia, could you pass me that bottle of wine?-1
Cecilia skimmed through the document one more time, and when she spotted the red seal at the bottom, she got so pumped she felt like she could drive around Skyview City a dozen times.
She used some of the inheritance from Victor and a bit of the thawed funds to snag this building. But lately, Julian had been breathing down her neck, making it tough for her to move freely. Not wanting anyone from the Medici family to catch wind of it, she secretly got Alaric to handle the purchase for her.
Of course, she paid him handsomely.
“Wanna go check it out later? Alaric asked.
“Absolutely, we have to, Cecilia replied with a smug grin.
Kian watched Cecilia and Alaric chatting away and couldn’t help but ask, “Ms. Medici, why’d you buy a building out of nowhere? Planning to turn it into a guesthouse and go head–to- head with Julian?”
Compared to Julian’s nature–themed guesthouse hotel, the building Cecilia picked had a prime location, with nice greenery around it, and wasn’t too far from the city center. Renting it out to tourists visiting Skyview City seemed like a solid plan.
But Cecilia had no plans to turn it into a guesthouse.
‘Not interested.” Cecilia waved her hand dismissively. “I just want to restore the Medici family to its former glory.‘
“Impressive. Kian clapped his hands.
Alaric raised an eyebrow. “Indeed impressive. That bottle of wine under your name has caused quite a stir.”
“What?” Kian was puzzled. “What’s happening now?”
Today’s info dump was a lot for him to process.
Cecilia smirked and glanced at Alaric.
“Skyview City officials announced that the Macallan distillery is shutting down completely.” Alaric squinted and looked back at Cecilia. “Someone’s offering a massive reward for the wine on the black market, and the highest bid has hit nearly seven billion dollars.”
Kian was floored, his eyes wide, mouth hanging open.
“You’re kidding, right?” he exclaimed.
‘See for yourself.” Alaric pulled up the wine market reward site on his phone and was about to show it to Kian, but Kian waved it away.
‘Forget it.” Kian scratched his head. “This world has gone nuts in ways I can’t even begin to understand.”
Cecilia couldn’t help but laugh. “But I’m not planning to sell it right now.”
“You’re not selling it?” Kian was baffled. “That’s one billion turning into seven billion dollars!”
Alaric said coolly, “The black market crowd is a mixed bag, and it’s not safe to deal with them. They haven’t made a move on Cecilia yet because they’re wary of Julian’s power.”
Cecilia nodded. ‘Plus, trading this bottle of wine with the government is way more worthwhile.”
Kian was completely floored. “What? The government?‘
“Yeah, forgot to mention, the government put out a notice saying they plan to showcase a museum of globally collected fine wines, most of which are mass–produced good wines, including the Macallan 1926. Alaric had a faint smile and said, “But now this bottle is in Cecilia’s hands. If she wants, she can trade it for that huge piece of land near the city center.”
“The one in the city center? That’s worth way more than seven billion dollars! It’s in the hundreds of billions!‘ Kian said, his head spinning. This was all too unbelievable!
‘Exactly.” Cecilia smiled. Her real goal was that prime piece of land.
Money on its own couldn’t do much, but people could.
Only by making the funds flow could infinite possibilities be created.
She wasn’t a wine collector; she got that bottle just to achieve her goal more conveniently.
‘Mr. Adams plans to run his big tavern near that piece of land, so there will probably be a lot of people coming, Cecilia sald with a smile. ‘No matter how I develop that land, there will be plenty of foot traffic.

Living in a fantasy, lost in indulgence,” Alaric said, his narrow eyes gazing at Cecilia with a hint of tenderness. “It’s called Skyview City for a reason–who here doesn’t love a good
drink?
Cecilia happened to meet his gaze, and for a moment, his eyes reminded her of Julian on the day of the press conference. Julian seemed to look at her with the same deep affection that
day
No, that wasn’t right. Alaric was probably just curious about Cecilia. How could he like her? After all, she was still Julian’s wife
Cecilia lowered her eyes. She no longer had any expectations for anyone.
Kian’s gaze moved back and forth between the two of them. Sensing the atmosphere was a bit off, he said, “Alright, are you guys going to see the building or not?”
Cecilia and Alaric said in unison, “Yes.”
“Get in the car then. Kian naturally took the driver’s seat.

Chapter 26 Cecilia, could you pass me that bottle of wine?-2
“Okay, Cecilia replied with a smile. Just as she was about to open the car door, her phone rang. She paused. The caller was Ollie.
It seemed they had seen the official document.
She thought, They are so impatient.
Cecilia sighed and said, “I might not be able to go.”
“Why?” Alaric asked.
“I need to go back to the Medici Mansion, Cecilia said.
Then I’ll take you, Alaric offered, pursing his lips.
“No need,” Cecilia declined. “I still need to put on makeup and change my clothes. Why don’t you guys take a video for me when you get there?”
Kian raised an eyebrow and suddenly leaned in close to Cecilia, staring at her face intently. “You’re not wearing makeup?”
Alaric grabbed him by the collar, frowning as he pulled Kian away from Cecilia.
“You look good without makeup, very cute,” he said to her.
Thank you, Mr. Percy.” Cecilia was a bit surprised by Alaric’s comment. She smiled politely and said, “Goodbye then.”
“Alaric!” Kian struggled to escape from Alaric’s grip, complaining.
Alaric snorted. “You were too close to her.”
Kian fumed. “I hate you lovebirds the most!”
Meanwhile, Cecilia called Ollie back.
“Cecilia, come home for dinner this afternoon. Katya made something delicious for you,” Ollie’s voice was gentle.
“Okay, Cecilia replied.
She knew exactly what Katya was up to.
Cecilia thought she could keep the purchase of that bottle of wine a secret for a little longer.
At five in the afternoon, Cecilia arrived at the Medici Mansion as promised.
As soon as Katya saw her, she quickly invited her in.
“Cecilia, you’re finally here. Come and sit,” Katya said with a smile. “I’d invite you for a family meal today, so I cooked myself. I hope it suits your taste.”
Cecilia glanced at the dishes on the table that looked delicious, with great color, aroma, and taste. But unfortunately, she couldn’t eat spicy food recently.
“Aunt Katya, to be honest, I’ve been taking medicine lately and can’t eat many things,” Cecilia pursed her lips and said.
Katya looked a bit embarrassed. She remembered that Cecilia used to love spicy food.
“It’s okay, there are some non–spicy dishes too,” she said.
Ollie tried to smooth things over. “Yes. Look, there are a few dishes you can eat. But Cecilia, why are you taking medicine?”
“It’s nothing serious, probably just too much stress,” Cecilia replied.
Katya’s eyes lit up. “By the way, Cecilia, I heard you spent a billion dollars on that bottle of Macallan. Is that true?”
Cecilia sneered inwardly. Katya was indeed up to no good. Cecilia hadn’t even touched her utensils yet, and Katya was already eyeing the bottle of wine.
Cecilia replied. “Yes, it’s true.”
Katya’s eyes immediately lit up, but she tried to maintain her composure. “Cecilia, could you please let me have that bottle of wine?”

Cecilia glanced at Ollie and asked, confused. “Uncle Ollie doesn’t drink much whiskey, does he?”
It’s your brother lett who wants to collect that bottle,” Katya smiled and said. “Let’s eat first; we can talk while we eat.”
Cecilia pressed her lips together and picked at the few mild dishes, eating a little bit.
Why is lett suddenly interested in collecting wine? I remember he prefers drinking at bars,‘ she said casually.
Ollie, eating his meal, couldn’t hold back any longer and said, “Actually, the government issued a notice this morning about setting up a fine wine exhibition. They even set up a special counter for the Macallan brand, and now they’re just missing the bottle you have, Cecilia.”
“Really?” Cecilia paused her eating and looked at Ollie in surprise.
Ollie said, “You’re quite wealthy now. That bottle of wine could be exchanged for a large plot of land downtown. Initially, it was meant for a medium–sized international exhibition center, but the project was put on hold because the location wasn’t ideal.”
Cecilia’s expression became even more surprised.
Katya seized the opportunity and said, “Cecilia, you`re under a lot of stress lately. Why don’t you let us handle this? We’re family, and it doesn’t matter who gets the land, right?”
Cecilia lowered her head, contemplating Katya’s words. That parcel of land, sprawling over 50 acres, was too significant to relinquish so easily.
“Didn’t you say lett wanted to collect it?” she changed the topic.
Katya’s smile faltered, and she looked a bit awkward.
Ollie helped her out. “Katya didn’t want to be too forward. Don’t hold it against her.”
Cecilia shook her head with a smile. “Aunt Katya, it’s not that I don’t want to, but I already gave that bottle to someone else this morning.”
“What?” Katya’s voice suddenly rose. “How could you make such a huge decision so casually?‘
“But when I bought that bottle, I didn’t ask for your opinion either.” Cecilia tilted her head, her eyes full of confusion.
Ollie patted Katya’s back and asked Cecilia, ‘Never mind, Cecilia. Who did you sell the wine to?”
“Alaric.” Cecilia’s lips curled into a bright smile.
Katya and Ollie couldn’t smile at all. How could it be Alaric?
Alaric was known for being ruthless. Although most of his business was abroad, very few big–name merchants in Skyview City hadn’t heard of him.
Moreover, Bodhi had recently acknowledged him as his grandson.
Alaric was now quite famous in Skyview City.
In this situation, even if Katya and Ollie had the guts, they wouldn’t dare to snatch the wine from Alaric!
