Chapter 113
Sapphire POV
I sat ating desk, sipping my coffee and staring at the file in front of me Clara, yastani, walked in and stood beside my desk a friendly smile on
her bee
She was always struling, it was one of the reason why I gave her the job, we might be a cybersecurity company but it didn’t mean she couldn’t give
killer males in our client.
She was here for a reason and I should listen to her and not be too enchanted by her smiles.
“Hey. Sapphire, I have souse great news,” she said her eyes sparkling with exchemem. “We just landed a new client. They’re a big tech firm, and they’re looking for a comprehensive cybersecurity package.”
This was the kind of enthusiasm Freeded, since I resured we hadn’t landed any clients, so this was a welcome change.
Trabed an eyebrow, feeling a spark of interest. “That sounds like a great opportunity,” I said, setting my coffee cup down. “But tell me more about the client. What’s their story!”
One thing I had noticed about myself was the fact that I might be excited about news like this but I would want to know everything about the company, maybe do my research after she has given all the details she had.
She leaned forward, her hands clasped together in front of her. “From what I’ve gathered, they’re a relatively new company, but they’re growing fast. They’re looking for a company like ours to help them protect their assets and stay ahead of the competition ”
We had clients like this and it was always easy to work with them, maybe this was going to be the same thing.
Inred to stop wandering and listen to what she has to say.
I nodded, taking in the information. As she spoke. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. We had worked hard to build our
company, and it was great to see our efforts paying off
My company was like my haven, I will always be grateful to everybody who helped me build it from the ground up
But as she continued to talk, 1 started to feel a nagging sense of unease. The client seemed off. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but my instincts
were telling me to be cautious
I didn’t want to spook her, though. She was always se optimistic, and I didn’t wa

want to rain on her parade. So I kept my concern to myself, for now.
She grinned and nodded, and we spem the next hour brainstorming and outlining our plan. As we worked. I couldn’t shake off the feeling tha something was off. But I pushed it aside, focusing on the task at hand.
I had been this way since I came back, I couldn’t even blame myself cause nobody could have gone through that ordeal and not be paranoid.
As the morning wore on, I started to feel a sense of restlessness. I got up from my desk and walked over to the window, staring out at the city below. Clara looked up from her notes, a questioning expression on her face.
“Everything okay, Sapphire?” she asked.
She has always got me and she was protective of me since I came back, she had always been sensitive that went why she was a good assistant. I was thankful for that but this wasn’t something I was ready to share with her, cause I didn’t ever know what was wrong with me.
I nodded, feeling queue of unease. “Yeah, everything’s fine.” I said. “I just need to stretch my legs, that’s all.” that was the only excuse I could give her, the would leave me be that was for sure but she might bring it up later but not now.
Clara nodded and went back to work, but I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was off. I felt like I was being watched, but every time!
Tumed around, there was no one there.
It wasn’t until later, when I was walking out of the office, that I realized the truth. I was being watched, and it wasn’t just my imagination
Ich a glimpse of a suspicious–looking mun lurking in the shadows across the street. He was trying in blend in, but I could sense his eyes on me.
