Chapter 158
Aragon POV
I stepped out of my car and onto the winding driveway, my eyes scanning the surroundings. The house was hidden far into the bush, surrounded by tall trees and dense foliage. It was the perfect place to hide Sapphire.
As I walked towards the house, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief. I had been worried about Sapphire’s safety for weeks, and it was good to finally have her in a secure location.
Ryker, my partner, was waiting for me at the front door. He was a tall, imposing figure, with a rugged jawline and piercing blue eyes.
“Aragon,” he said, as I approached. “What’s going on
“I need to hide Sapphire for a while, I explained. “Victor is getting too close.”
Ryker’s expression turned grim. Ive heard of him,” he said. “He’s not someone to be trifled with.”
1 nodded in agreement. “I know,” I said. “That’s why I need to get Sapphire to a safe place.
Ryker nodded, stepping aside to let me in. ‘She’s welcome to stay here for as long as she needs,” he said.
I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Ryker. Thanks, man,” I said. “I owe you one.”
Ryker waved his hand dismissively. “Don’t mention it,” he said. “Just make sure Sapphire is safe.”
I nodded, making my way inside. Sapphire was sitting on the couch, looking pale and scared. I sat down beside her, taking her hand in mine.
“Hey,‘ I said softly. “How are you doing?”
Sapphire looked up at me, her eyes filled with fear. “I’m scared. Aragon,” she said. “I don’t know what Victor is capable of.”
1 squeezed her hand reassuringly. “You’re safe now,” I said. “You’re hidden away where Victor can’t find you.”
Sapphire nodded, looking slightly more reassured. “What’s going to happen next?” she asked.
1 hesitated, unsure of how much to tell her. Marcel and I had come up with a plan to stop Victor, but I couldn’t tell Sapphire what it was. Not yet.
“We’re working on a plan to stop Victor,” I said vaguely. “But I need you to stay here and stay safe.”
Sapphire looked at me uncertainly. “But what about you?” she asked. “What are you going to do?”
I smiled reassuringly. “Tll be fine,” I said. “I have a plan, and I’ll be working with Marcel to make sure Victor doesn’t hurt anyone else.”
Sapphire nodded, looking slightly more reassured. “Okay,” she said. “I’ll stay here and stay safe.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I knew that Sapphire was safe now, and that was all that mattered.
Over the next few days, I worked tirelessly with Marcel to put our plan into action. We had spoken with the council, and they had agreed to go along with our plan.
But I couldn’t tell Sapphire what it was. Not yet. I didn’t want her to accidentally spill the details to Victor, and I didn’t want her to worry.
So I kept her in the dark, telling her only that I was working on a plan to stop Victor. She seemed to accept that, and she stayed hidden away at Ryker’s house, safe from Victor’s prying eyes.
As the days turned into weeks, I could see the fear in Sapphire’s eyes start to fade. She was starting to feel safe again, and that was all that mattered.
But I knew that it wouldn’t last forever.
Eventually, Victor would find out where Sapphire was hiding, and he would come for her.
That’s why I had to make sure our plan was foolproof. I had to make sure that Victor was stopped, once and for all.
I worked tirelessly, day and night, to make sure that our plan was perfect. And finally, after weeks of preparation, we were ready.
It was time to put our plan into action, and to stop Victor once and for all.
As I sat in the living room of Ryker’s house, going over the final details of our plan, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nervous energy. This was the moment we had been working towards for weeks.
Marcel, who was sitting across from me, looked up from the papers in his hand.
“Are you sure this is going to work?” he asked, his brow furrowed with concern.
“Ive gone over it a thousand times,” I replied, trying to convey a sense of confidence. “We’ve planned every detail, every contingency. We’re ready for this.”
Marcel nodded, seeming to accept my reassurance. “Okay,” he said. “But what if something goes wrong? What if Victor has a surprise up his sleeve?”
I leaned forward, my elbows on my knees. “We’ve thought of that too,” I said. “We have a backup plan in place, just in case. And we’ll be monitoring the situation closely, so we can adjust our plan if needed.”
Marcel nodded again, looking slightly more reassured. “Okay,” he said. “I trust you, Aragon. You’ve always come through for us.”
I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Marcel. “Thanks, man,” I said. “I won’t let you down“.
As we sat there, going over the final details of our plan, I couldn’t help but think of Sapphire. She was safe, hidden away at Ryker’s house, but I knew
