Sapphire.
I groaned as I struggled to sit up. My head feels like I rammed it into a truck.
I looked around and it wasn’t the dungeons, I was in a bed. A hospital bed. I was in the pack’s hospital.
My hands were chained to the side of the bed, and so were my legs too. They should give me a break.
I relaxed on the bed, it was better than sitting all day in that cold dungeon.
The door opened and I tensed, it was the Alpha and what looked like a doctor.
“You are awake,” he stated, I said nothing but a nod. My head throbbed.
“Give her time, Alpha, she was hurt pretty badly. I gave her something for the pain.” The doctor said, He nodded but the whole time he was staring at
- me.
‘Leave us,”
My body seized in fear as the doctor left the room, I wondered if it was his turn.
“Are you alright?” He asked, coming closer to the bed.
inched back a bit, and I said nothing.
“Stop being stubborn and answer me.” He growled at me blatant display of disrespect.
“I am alive,” I thanked the heavens my voice came out strong.
He furrowed his brows but said nothing. “The guards are being punished. They shouldn’t have laid hands on you.”
I shrugged, “There is no need to punish them. They were simply obeying their Alpha’s commands.”
The words came out with no emotions, I was done playing the helpless princess.
“I didn’t order them to hit you,”
“I don’t care about that. How did you find me?”
“My wolf felt your pain, he was restless and I decided to check on you. I am sorry for what happened.”
I nodded but said nothing, he stretched his hands toward me.
“Here, take this. The doctor said it should help with the pain.”
I stared long and hard at the drugs on his palm but I made no move to take them.
“I am fine, thank you.”
“Come on, take it. My wolf is angry with me as it is.”
“I am sorry your wolf is angry that you are being an ass, but I am okay. This is nothing.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means that I am fine and you don’t have to feel guilty either.”
“Just take the damn drugs,”
“When will you let me go?”
“What?”
“You already rejected me and I accepted it, either you kill me or you let me go. Keeping here for entertainment for your bored guards is not right.”
He glared at me, “You are not going anywhere.”
“I figured, so death it is then. I want something painless.”
He snorted, “Let’s focus on getting you better.” He made a move to sit down but I stopped him.
“Get out,”
*Excuse me?”
“Get out!” I yelled, He gritted his teeth,
I would take this because you are in pain but mind you, I don’t take kindly to disrespect.” He spat out before leaving.
The doctor came in shortly after that.
“You are brave, young lady.”
“Excuse me?”
“You are brave for speaking to the Alpha that way if you were not in this condition already. He would have put you there.”
“What?”

“He is ruthless, so I suggest you be careful when you speak to him.”
“Who is he anyway? I haven’t heard about him.”
If I was going to be stuck here then it was good for me to gather intel on my enemy.
“Trust me, you shouldn’t know anything about him. The faster you can leave here, the better for you.” The doctor rushed out.
“Just tell me already.” I groaned.
“He is Alpha Aragon.”
My heart froze, it couldn’t be.
My mate was a cold–blooded killer, I should have known from the way be killed, by my father but enjoys killing.
“From the look on your face, I assume you have heard about him.” The doctor mused.
I nodded.
Alpha Aragon was the man mothers warned you to stay away from. He started celebrating his victories at the age of ten. Having killed a guard for challenging his authority as the future Alpha.
His tales were in the horror section of the pack’s library and I always snuck in there to read. He was nicknamed the Blood Alpha in all the neighboring packs.
It was a reminder that not all men were human. Some of them were born with ice for a heart.
JA whimper escaped me when I thought about my future, chained in the dungeons and forced to mate with him so he could get an heir to carry on
his family name.
My body shuddered as I thought about it, I didn’t want that kind of life for myself. I didn’t plan to escape my father just to run into another monster. Except this one is my mate, the moon goddess gave me to a monster. He was right about one thing.
The mate bond was a curse and not a blessing as others viewed it.
“I am going to step out, I will check your temperature when I come back.” The doctor excused himself.
Leaving me to my thoughts. How do I escape the clutches of the blood alpha?
What happens to me? His wolf was angry with him because I was hurt, so the intention of letting me go was thrown in hell. He wouldn’t mate with me because he hates me, but he won’t let me go.
I am in my version of hell and this isn’t what I imagined it to be. I imagined running far away from my father and being labeled a rogue but between that and being mated to the Blood Alpha, I don’t know which sounds better.
What do we do, Onyx? I asked my wolf, she has not said a word since we got captured.
