Chapter 18: Luna Announcement
Kate
The grand hall of the Crimson Moon Packhouse was alive with chatter of excited voices. Some members wore eager smiles; others whispered curiously with eyes darting toward me. I stood at Kent‘ s side, my pulse steady despite their collective gaze. This moment wasn’t about proving myself but claiming what was mine.
Kent raised a hand, and the room fell silent.
“Crimson Moon Pack,” he began.
“Tonight, I have an announcement that marks a turning point for all of us.

A ripple of curiosity moved through the crowd, but no one spoke.
“For years, I’ve led this pack alone. And while it has been my honor, the time has

come to make a change. A pack is strongest
when led by two–Alpha and Luna, and
united in purpose.
وو
He turned to me with a smile.
“Kate.”
I stepped forward, meeting the stares of the gathered pack.
“Kate is my mate and your Luna–to–be. Together, we will lead Crimson Moon Pack into its brightest future.”
A mixture of gasps and cheers erupted. The sound was overwhelming, but Kent‘ s hand on my lower back anchored me. One of the elders stepped forward, raising his hand to quiet the noise.
“Alpha Kent, the pack respects your leadership and your choice. But a Luna is
more than a title. What makes Kate the
one?” he asked.
The room fell silent again. I didn’t wait for Kent to answer. I took a step forward,

letting the pack see me fully.
“You‘ re right,” I said.
“A Luna is more than a title. She‘ s a protector, a guide, and a partner to the Alpha. But she’s also a warrior in her own right. I’m here because I’ve proven my strength, my loyalty, and my
determination. I’m not asking for your blind acceptance… I‘ ll earn it.”
The elder’s sharp eyes studied me for a moment, and then he nodded with a smile.
“Well said, Luna Kate.”
A cheer broke out. It wasn’t unanimous, but it didn’t need to be. Respect wasn’t given freely. It was earned, and I was ready to fight for it.
Kent raised his hand again, and the noise quieted.
“The mating ceremony will take place two weeks from tonight. Prepare yourselves to welcome your Luna properly. Until then,

treat her like me.”
The declaration sent another round of
cheers through the hall. A few warriors even let out howls. My heart pounded in my chest, not from fear but from the thrill of stepping into a role I had once lost and thought I wouldn’t have again.
As the meeting ended, pack members approached me, offering words of welcome. or simple nods of acknowledgment. It was a whirlwind of faces and names, but I met each gesture with a firm handshake or a grateful smile.
“I’d say that went well,” Kent said quietly as the crowd dispersed.
“It’s a start,” I replied.
“More than a start. You‘ re already
winning them over.”
Before I could respond, a warrior entered the hall, his expression grim.
“Alpha,” he said, bowing briefly before

glancing at me.
“There’s something you need to know.”
Kent straightened, and his easy demeanor changed to an Alpha.
“What is it?”
“It’s about Tyson.”
My breath hitched, and Kent glanced at me before returning to the warrior.
“Speak.
99
“He was spotted near the northern border earlier tonight. He tried to sneak onto our territory again.”
“And?”
“Our patrols stopped him before he could get far. He fought back, but there were fifteen of us. He didn’t stand a chance.”
“Is he still alive?”
“Yes, Alpha. But barely. He fled after the fight and hasn’t been seen since.”

A mix of relief and unease settled over me. Tyson had left Silverfang, and now he‘ tried to invade Crimson Moon’s territory again.
“Good. Make sure the patrols remain doubled. I don’t want him anywhere near this pack.‘
“Yes, Alpha,” the warrior said before leaving.
Kent turned to me with a softened expression.
“He won’t get near you, Kate. I promise you that.”
I nodded. Tyson had made his choice, and now he was paying the price. I removed him from my head and thought of the mating ceremony. I couldn’t help but feel very excited about it.
