Chapter 6: The Revelation
Kate
When I entered the healer’s hall the next day, it was already bustling. Voices overlapped as healers exchanged notes and instructions. The scent of crushed herbs. mingled with a metallic tang made my nose twitch. But I remained composed despite lacking sleep, thinking of Stella’s party later.
“Luna Kate!” Elder Marius waved at me.
He stood at a table with scattered old scrolls and jars, typical of him.
“You‘ re just in time. We‘ re finalizing next week’s schedule.”
“Let’s get it over with,” I replied curtly, sitting across from him.
He dove into the upcoming healer meetings, resource inventories, and children’s activities. I focused on the

mundane details to keep my temper in check. But as the minutes ticked by, the rage I’d been trying to bury clawed its way back.
“Luna Kate.”

I turned to see Aurora, the head healer, standing in the doorway with a grave expression.
“May I have a word?”
“It’s fine. I’ll be back shortly,” I replied before Elder Marius could protest.
My heart started pounding for reasons I couldn’t explain. I followed Aurora, who hurried toward the quietest corner of the hall, away from the prying eyes.
“What’s this about?” I demanded as soon as we stopped.
She didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she studied me, her gaze probing, and weighing whether I could handle what she was about to say.

“You‘ ve been lied to,” she said finally.
I blinked, caught off guard by her bluntness.
“What are you talking about?”
“I’ve reviewed the test multiple times. I even checked it yesterday. All have the same result. I am not mistaken, Luna Kate.”
“Aurora, can you please stop talking in riddles? You are confusing me. What test are you talking about?”
Aurora let out a breath, confusing met more. Earlier, she looked like she was testing me. Now, she pitied me.
“You‘ re not barren, Luna Kate.”
My eyes widened, and my jaw dropped as it sounded like a bomb blown into my face. It
took me a minute to recover what Aurora just said.
“Wh–what?”
“You heard me. You‘ re not the reason

there’s been no child.”
I shook my head, unable to process what she was saying.
“That doesn’t make any sense. Tyson….
he said…”
he’s
“Alpha Tyson lied,” she interrupted.
“I did the tests again yesterday to be certain. The problem isn‘ t you. It’s him.”
The room spun as the revelation sank in. For years, Tyson had made me feel
worthless, when in fact, I wasn’t the problem.
“Are you absolutely sure?”
Aurora‘ s expression softened like a
mother of a hurt child.
“Come with me.
She led me to the small laboratory at the back of the hall. Aurora quickly opened a secured drawer, pulled out a piece of

paper, and handed it to me.
“See for yourself.”
I scanned the results, my heart pounded
with every line I read. She was right. I wasn‘ t barren.
“Does Tyson know?”
Aurora nodded. The words felt like a sharp. stab to my chest. Tyson had known and still allowed me to bear the weight of the pack‘ s scorn, to endure Stella‘ s arrogant taunts, and to believe I was broken.
“Why would he do this?” I whispered, almost in tears.
“Because of pride. An Alpha‘ s strength is everything. If the pack knew the truth, his position would be at risk. Some might even challenge to replace him.”
A bitter laugh escaped from my mouth.
“So, he let me take the blame. He let me suffer to protect his image.”

“And Stella‘ s child? Who’s the father?”
Aurora shook her head.

“It’s not Alpha Tyson. That much I’m certain of. But I haven’t had the chance to
determine who it is.”
I clenched the paper in my hand. The betrayal cut deeper, but I wouldn’t let it break me. If Tyson and Stella thought they could continue this charade, they were sorely mistaken.
“Thank you for telling me.”
“Be careful, Luna Kate. Tyson won’t forgive you if this gets out. Trust no one,” Aurora warned.
I nodded. I stepped out with determination. to fight back, and for the first time, I
smiled, feeling victorious. It was time for the breeder to be exposed..
