Kate
The packhouse was alive with music and laughter. Gold and white streamers hung from the walls, extravagant floral arrangements adorned every corner, and the air smelled of champagne and expensive perfume. It was a clear display of Stella’s drama and love for extravagance.
I walked in, chin held high, wearing a simple yet elegant black dress that hugged my curves. Wolves turned to stare but whispered behind their glasses. No matter how much Stella wanted to play dress–up in my role, I was still the Luna.
Stella stood at the center, radiant in a glittering gold gown that clung to her body. One hand cradled on her belly, the other entwined with Tyson‘ s. She saw me and smirked, feeling victorious. This was her show, I was merely a guest, and she made

sure to emphasize it.
“Luna Kate, you made it! I was worried you might not come,” she said with her
fake sweet smile.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” I replied with a sarcastic smile.
“You look… striking,” she said, glancing at my dress with secret disdain.
“And you look glowing. Pregnancy suits. you,” I said, my eyes lingered on her belly.
Stella’s smile faltered, but she recovered. quickly.
“It’s the Alpha‘ s child. A blessing from the Moon Goddess.”
My wolf stirred, growling in the back of my
mind. I wanted to lash out, to tear her smug expression apart, but I forced myself to remain calm. Tyson joined us, his eyes darting between us, feeling the tension.
“Kate. I hope you’ll behave tonight,” he said calmly, but it was a warning.

I raised an eyebrow.
“Of course, Alpha. I wouldn’t dream of causing a scene.”
Stella laughed lightly, resting her hand on Tyson’s chest.
“Let’s not dwell on the past. Tonight is about celebrating life and family.”
The evening went on with dinner, a toast, and fake smiles. Wolves crowded around Stella, showering her with compliments. and congratulations. Tyson stayed by her side, playing the doting mate. I stood in the corner, a silent observer, waiting for the right moment.
And then, it finally came.
“Everyone, may I have your attention?” Stella‘ s said, silencing the chatter. She stood on a raised platform, holding a glass of sparkling juice.
“I want to thank you all for coming tonight. This year has been…

transformative. I’ve found my place in this pack, and soon, I’ll bring a new life into it.”
Cheers erupted, and Stella basked in the applause. She glanced at me, a glint of malice in her eyes, before continuing.
I
“As we toast to this joyous occasion, want to wish Luna Kate blessings of her own. May she find the strength to… what was it?… Accept her place in the grand design.
Laughter rippled through the crowd. My cheeks burned, but I didn‘ t flinch. Instead, I smirked, raised my glass, and met Stella‘ s gaze.
“And may your child inherit the strength of their true father,” I said calmly.
The room fell silent. Tension arose as every wolf turned to stare at me, then at Stella. Whispers started. And Stella’s smile froze, her eyes widening in shock.
“Excuse me?”

“You heard me. Surely, you wouldn’t mind if we raised a toast to the one
responsible for such a… miraculous blessing?”
Stella’s hand tightened around her glass, and a flicker of panic crossed her face. Tyson’s eyes narrowed, his jaw tightening as walk towards me.
“Kate, that’s enough,” he growled.
“Is it? Or is it finally time for the truth to come out?”
Before Tyson could respond, Stella let out a nervous laugh, her voice a little too high- pitched.
“Let’s not ruin the mood. Tonight is about celebration, not… petty accusations.”
I smiled, but it didn’t reach my eyes.
“Of course. Enjoy your night, Stella. I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you. Happy birthday!”

I turned and walked away, leaving her standing there, her confidence visibly shaken. That look was totally epic, I will never forget it.
As I reached the exit, I felt her eyes burning into my back. But now that the seed of doubt had been planted, I
wondered what their next move would be.
