“Yes, I am excessive, I am being unreasonable. But isn’t it excessive for President Hurley to behave like a stubborn dog, refusing to get off someone else’s car?”
Sophie went straight to the back seat, opened the car door, and tried to pull Hurley down.
She was strong, but Hurley seemed more stable. Even though she grabbed his arm, she couldn’t move this man.
Sophie’s entire body went into the car, pulling at him.
Instead, Hurley’s long arm wrapped around and directly hooked Sophie’s waist, pulling her into his arms. Bodies pressed against each other, feeling the familiar scent emanating from Hurley, Sophie shivered, resisting vehemently.
“Let go!” She struggled.
However, Hurley was stronger, his force seeming to embed Sophie into his body.
“Miss Sophie, can I interpret this whole maneuver of yours as an attempt to throw yourself into my arms?” Hurley locked eyes with Sophie.
The woman in his arms wore a vexed expression, even with a hint of liveliness. When those eyes looked at him, they resembled a little fool, yet not entirely.
The little fool was very gentle, full of admiration in his gaze towards him. But when Sophie looked at him, it was as if she wanted to give him a good slap instead.
“Do you think you’re the only man in the world, deserving of someone throwing themselves at you?”
Hurley was originally very angry about Sophie’s actions, but in their current position, he caught a faint, elegant fragrance emanating from Sophie.
She was like a blooming rose, vibrant and fiery, yet adorned with thorns all over.
For some reason, Hurley thought of that night when the dormant beast inside him seemed to stir once again.
He didn’t understand himself. Clearly, he had no interest in women, even disliked their proximity. But why, in front of Sophie, did these sensations magnify, as if there was a fatal attraction?
“Sophie,” Hurley’s voice was slightly hoarse.
“Let go of me!” Sophie didn’t notice anything unusual about Hurley.
However, she despised this kind of posture and contact, yet couldn’t break free. So, she opened her mouth and bit down hard on Hurley’s shoulder.
Sophie never held back, especially when it came to Hurley.
“Ah!” Hurley winced in pain, loosening his grip a bit. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Sophie immediately

slipped out of Hurley’s embrace.
“Since Mr. Hurley doesn’t leave, then I will.” She was afraid that if she saw Hurley again, she might lose control and do something regrettable!
She didn’t care about the car; a vehicle meant nothing significant to Sophie. She randomly hailed a taxi on the roadside, got in, and gave her home address.
Watching Sophie leave, Hurley let out a sigh of relief, then took a seat in the passenger side.
While starting the vehicle, Hurley made a phone call to Chris.
“Diminish the online news about Sophie. It’s all baseless rumors after all,” he said,
Chris responded, “What about Miss Matilda? Her clarification video has been released, but now the public opinion
is all directed at her.”
This was undoubtedly a severe blow to Matilda’s career. She not only offended the Windsor and Hades families, two major clans, but also faced criticism online.
People’s perceptions are all tarnished, and many fans have unfollowed.
Hurley didn’t hesitate, “No need to bother about her. She should have considered the consequences before taking
action.”
Chris chuckled, finding Hurley a bit biased.
“Also, investigate Sophie again. I want all her records from these past five years, including everything she did before returning to the Hades family, and particularly information about her time in the Michaels family. Find out
especially who her ex–husband is!”
What kind of grudge or dispute caused Sophie to hate her ex–husband so much?
