He looked panic, “Who said we broke up, I

“Allow what?”
Before I could say anything else, my brother
came up from behind us.
I laughed and explained, “Bro wanted to buy a
ring for Sarah, and he wanted to know what
kind of ring girls liked. If I didn’t answer, he
wouldn’t let me go home.”
Jake’s face changed.
He pulled my arm, wanting to say something,
but my brother cut him off.
