Chapter 17
She must have hated the person who abandoned her!
If his hands weren’t both still in casts, Floyd might have grabbed his own head and slammed it against the wall, hoping to experience a fraction of the despair
Lumina must have felt when she was left behind.
The overwhelming regret fused with an intense, blazing fury. “Bring Tracie and Sean here!”
When Sean was dragged out of bed, he was lying on top of a woman.
The woman screamed in panic, while Sean slapped the bed, helplessly furious. “Who are you people? Do you know who I am? I’m the genius chief surgeon! I’m also Floyd’s brother–in–law! Once my sister marries into the Stuart Family, I’ll make sure you ungrateful bastards pay for this!”

Meanwhile, Tracie hadn’t slept all night. As the time they had agreed upon drew closer, her phone remained silent–no messages from the nurse. Even the calls. she made went unanswered.
Staring at the clock on the wall, anxiety and unease began to take hold. Just as she anxiously paced back and forth in her bedroom, a group of bodyguards stormed in, tied her hands and dragged her away without a word.
In that moment, her unease grew into full- blown panic, only dissipating when she was brought face–to–face with Floyd.
“Floydie, what’s going on?”
Tracie lifted her bound wrists, looking pitiful as she asked, her eyes filled with her usual helplessness and vulnerability. The bodyguards, with cold expressions, tossed the pink syringe in front of her.
Soon after, Sean was dragged in. It was clear he had already suffered. His exposed

skin was covered in bruises.
The moment he saw Tracie, he began pointing at her wildly, shouting, “It’s this bitch, she’s the one who ordered it all! I’m a doctor, how could I do something so
monstrous?”
“It’s all because she wants to marry into the Stuart Family! She’s been scheming to get rid of Lumina and I’ve been forced.
into it!”
Tracie froze. She had anticipated this outcome, but she hadn’t expected it to come so quickly.
Desperate, she scrambled to Floyd‘ s side, quickly pulling out the excuse she had prepared earlier.
“Floydie, how could you believe the nonsense of an outsider? Do you really think I have the guts to harm Lumina? Don’t you remember? In Mount
Gravenwood, she nearly pushed me off the
cliff!”

As she spoke, she lifted her skirt to reveal. the still grotesque scars on her calf. “Your saw the moment yourself!”
By positioning herself as the victim, Tracie. hoped to garner at least some sympathy.
This was the most important lesson Tracie had learned over the years.
To her shock, Floyd didn’t react the way she expected. Instead of showing sympathy or pity, he looked at her with clear disgust.
“On Mount Gravenwood, you were the one who fell, not Lumina. You used her parents to provoke her and then framed everything on Lumina. You deserve to die!”
Tracie‘ s mind went blank. She had no
idea where things had gone wrong, or how Floyd knew all of this.
But at that moment, she had no time to think; she could only desperately cling to Floyd‘ s pant leg, begging, “Floydie, you’ve always liked me. Don’t you remember? We were each other’s first

love. I gave you the best years of my life- don’t tell me you‘ ve forgotten?”
“Lumina is the real third wheel between us. She’s almost dead now. Can’t we just be together again?”
Something in her words seemed to trigger Floyd’s fury. Without warning, he kicked
her hard in the chest.
