Chapter 24
“When she was found, Rebecca’s bodily functions had nearly shut down to zero. Many doctors had already declared her dead, but strangely, just half a month ago, she suddenly woke up,” the assistant explained.
As the assistant spoke, he noticed Floyd‘ s expression darkening, his face paling to the point where it seemed he might need to lean against the wall to stay upright.
“Mr. Saunders!”
The assistant moved to help, but Floyd raised his hand to stop him. His voice was weak, but filled with an uncontrollable
madness.
“You‘ re telling me that Rebecca also
went to Mount Gravenwood and after
coming out, she became a vegetable?”
The assistant was about to nod when he
was struck by the eerie similarity between

Rebecca’s story and Lumina‘ s. It was as though they were the same story, copied.
Before he could fully process it, he heard Floyd’s unyielding command, “I want to see her!”
With less than ten days until the wedding, Grant was juggling the demands of running the company and preparing for the big day, barely able to keep up. Yet, he still made sure to spend half of each day by Lumina’s side.
Lumina knew that Grant had been deeply shaken by the incident where she collapsed.
He wanted to keep her close, right by his side at all times, where he could see and touch her, but at the same time, he feared that doing so would restrict her freedom.
If it had been before, he would never have had such thoughts, but he had waited for three years.
In those three years, he had tasted both

hope and despair, almost losing the ability to love in a normal way. Yet, he didn‘ t dare show anything. He was terrified that if he expressed too much, it would drive his loved one away.
After all, everyone wants to present their best self in front of the person they love
most.
Lumina was deeply concerned, but didn‘ t know how to comfort him..
While preparing the wedding favors, she unexpectedly came across the stack of love letters Grant had given her a total of 132 letters.
The edges of many of the letters had begun to yellow and curl, from the countless times she had reread them.
His love was evident in every word, in every sentence.
Lumina knew she didn’t have Grant‘ s talent for writing, for expressing love on every page. But she could paint.

With that thought, everything suddenly clicked.
She pulled out the easel that had been gathering dust in her home and, almost instinctively, began to bring color to the
canvas.
Every detail in the painting corresponded to the words in the letters, gradually forming the image of the Grant she held in her heart.
Strangely, as she painted, another man‘ s face occasionally surfaced in her mind, as though she had once carefully and
patiently painted someone else in the same
way.
However, she didn‘ t dwell on it. Instead, she focused entirely on finishing her work.
When Grant returned home, he found Lumina standing before the easel, lost in her painting.
“Beckie…”

Lumina turned her head and met his gaze.
“I don‘ t know how to express my love for you,” she said softly, “and I don’t know what to do to make you stop worrying about me.”
She continued, “But I can paint. So, I want to recreate the way you once loved me.”
With a gentle smile, she added, “Starting today, I will paint one picture for you every day. The images will reflect the love letters you wrote to me.”
“Grant, I may not love you the way you love and I may not express myself as well as you do. But what I want to tell you is that. I truly love you and I’ll never leave you. Because… I came back for you.”
As she finished speaking, Grant felt as if something had gently brushed against his heart.
