Chapter 27
“Moony, is it really you? You are my Moony, aren’t you? Your soul left your body and came into someone else‘ s, right?”
The moment he held her, Floyd‘ s thoughts became even clearer. The exact
same scent. This woman carried the same
scent as Lumina.
How could there be such a coincidence in
this world? How could two different people be so alike?
Rebecca was utterly terrified. She struggled desperately, repeatedly shouting Grant’s
name.
“Grant, help! Grant, where are you?”
In her frantic movements, she accidentally bumped her forehead against the
doorframe, leaving a large, red bruise on
her fair skin.
Floyd saw it and instinctively covered the

injury with his hand, his voice full of concern, “Moony, what happened to you?”
Seizing the moment, Rebecca bit down hard on Floyd’s palm.
Her bite was so forceful that blood quickly began to seep from the wound, causing Floyd to flinch and release his grip.
Lumina quickly grabbed the doorknob. again and with all her speed, rushed out of the art studio. In her panic, she collided into a warm embrace.
“Beckie, what happened?” Grant
immediately pulled Rebecca into his arms, his voice full of concern. “Beckie, don’t be scared. Tell me, what happened?”
At that moment, Floyd walked out of the studio, slipping his bitten hand into his pocket, his demeanor completely calm.
With an easy smile, Floyd greeted Grant. “Mr. Saunders, long time no see.”
As soon as Rebecca locked eyes with Floyd,

the weight of his gaze left her speechless. For a moment, her words were caught in her throat. But after taking a deep breath to calm herself, she decided she would tell
Grant the truth.
However, before she could speak, Floyd interrupted. “The Stuart Family and the Saunders Family are about to enter into a collaboration. I came today to discuss the details of the contract with Mr. Saunders.”
“I apologize for taking up Mr. Saunders‘ personal time.”
Rebecca fell silent. The Stuart and
Saunders families were two of the most
powerful families in the city. If they formed a partnership, the potential rewards would be enormous. If she told
Grant what had just happened in the studio, the deal could fall apart and worse, the two families could become bitter
enemies.
She couldn’t bear the thought of putting Grant in such a difficult position.

Grant gave Floyd a polite nod but kept a firm grip on Lamina s hand. “Beckie, what really happened? You can tell me.”
Floyd spoke slowly, his tone calm. “A caterpillar fell from the sycamore tree outside and landed right at Ms. Woods‘ feet, which scared her and caused her to run out
of the studio.”
Rebecca nodded in agreement. From the knowing look on Grant’s face, Floyd knew he had guessed correctly. Rebecca had always been afraid of caterpillars.
As Grant was about to leave. Floyd
deliberately passed by Rebecca and quietly said, “Moony, don‘ t be scared. I won‘ t
hurt you.”
The day of the wedding arrived as scheduled.
Rebecca was both nervous and excited. Her
friends assured her that this was what they called “pre–wedding syndrome,” something many brides experience and that there was

no need to worry.
According to their local tradition, the bride and groom are not allowed to meet the day before the wedding, so Grant could only communicate with her through phone calls and messages.
[Beckie, don’t worry. We’ll be together soon.] Grant reassured her. [Actually, I’m nervous too, but just thinking that after today, you’ll be my wife… that makes waiting feel sweet.]
