Chapter 202: Brian Wants to Be Her Assistant
Shawn was put on the spot.
He could only giggle like an idioc
Gemma asked, “Dors Cassius really want Mr. Harrington to go!”
“Over the years, the misunderstandings between Vincent and Cass have piled up. Both of them have their own emotional baggage.”
“I know it’s a tough ask.”
“But if Vincent would even consider listening to me, I’d go myself”
Gemma caught the underlying message.
“So, this banquet could help them resolve their issises and reconcile?”
Slawn immediately snapped his fingers.
“BINGOF
“Gem, I know you’ll probably get an earful from Vincent, but you’re so kind and amazing.”
“Please, take one for the team.”
Gemma
She already owed Cassians a lot.
If she could repay some of that debt, she’d be happy.
Gerring scolded by Mr. Harrington!
Wasn’t a big deal.
Besides, Stella and Brian were on good terms. The three of them could meet up first.
She could test the waters.
So, without hesitation, she started making arrangements.
Shawn, sering that she had agreed, was overjoyed.
He had to go tell Cass the good news.
At noon.
Gemma’s office was mostly cleaned up, so she used that as an excuse to treat everyone to lunch.
She invited Brian and asked Stella to join them
Brian thought it might be awkward if it were just the two of them, but with Stella there, it would feel more natural.
So he didn’t refuse.
Stella showed up in workout clothes, having just finished her shift at her yoga studio.
“No sugar. I have a yoga competition coming up, so I need to watch my figure,”
She smiled as she sat down, looking at the two of them.
“Don’t mind me. You two go ahead and ear.”
Gemma wanted to ask her alsout Vincent, so she had to be extra attentive.
“Maintaining your figure is easy. I’ll give you a quick therapy session later. I’ll make your workouts feel lighter.”
Stella’s eyes lit up.
“You’re my hero!”
Gemma casually brought up, “By the way, how’s Mr. Harrington doing these days?”
Stella’s smile faded instantly,
“What else? After he was discharged, he took up photography. He spends more time with those birds than with me.”
Gemma thought for a moment. “Maybe he’s just bored. I heard there’s a business banquet coming up. Why not invite Mr. Harrington to join?” Stella waved her hand dismissively
“Let’s not. He’s gening older and luas turned into a homebody.”
“Besides, I think it’s better this way. Staying away from the outside world keeps has emotions stable. He’s happy every day.”
“Oh, Gemma, didn’t you say before that his condition requires him to stay in a good mood?”
Gemma was momentarily speechless.
Chapter 202: Brun Wants in Be Her Assistant
Brian rickly stepped in to smooth things over.
“But staying at home all the time isn’t good either, right. Genima?”
Gemma immediately caught on and gave Brian a grateful look.
“Right. Brian anal I both think it’s better for him to be happy both mentally and physically.”
For example, if he has any unresolved issues from the post,”
“To port it simply, if he lost a class game to someone and has been wanting to win ever since, you could talk to that person and let him win once. It would make him feel much better.”
Stella seemed to ponder this.
Finally, she seemed to understand.
“Actually, my grandpa’s biggest regret is my aunt.”
“My and was
was a grisus. She was a top–tier beauty and a straight–Astudent in our circle.”
“hot she fell for that scumbag Derick and even cut ties with the family for him.”
“Noi just my grandpa, even I can’t understand it now.”
“Even if Derick weren’t a scumbag. I still wouldn’t approve of someone like hun.”
Brian gently advised, “You’re looking at it with hindsight.”
Stella shrugged. “Maybe, But I’ll talk to Grandpa about getting him our for some fresh air. We’ll see”
Grinna was thrilled.
The mission was halfway complete.
After seeing Stella oll
Brian suggested taking a walk in the park across from the hospital.
To keep the conversation going, he continued discussing Mr. Harrington.
ot in the w
way.
“I think Grandpa had a falling out with his daughter hack then. He probably regretted it and wanted her to come back, but his pride got So he never got to see her our last time.”
“It’s a Helong regret.”
“When he blames my Uncle or his daughter, he’s really blaming himself. He hasn’t forgiven himself”
Gemma nodded, agreeing with his analysis.
Bran then shifted the topic, quietly asking about Drogo,
He had expected Gemma to be heanbroken
But instead, she was remarkably calm
“I’ve already reported it to the police. The rest is up to the legal process.”
She looked up at the clear blue sky,
Hoping her little village could soon be cleansed of its filth.
Brian, seeing her worry, felt a pang of sympathy,
“Gemma, none of this is your fault. Don’t shoulder it all alone.”
“You can talk to me. If I can help, I’ll do my best. If not, I can at least listen to you?
“Talking about it helps”
Gemau diook her head
“There’s nothing to say. Trash belongs in the trash can. That’s all there is to it,”
Brian smiled. “Right. If the trash can isn’t big enough, I’ll help you get a bigger one.” Gemma couldn’t help but laugh.
“Oh, by the way. I’ve applied to the dean to be your assistant here.”
She finally inapped out of her shock. “You you’re going to be my assistant?”
If it were broad daylight, she’d think she was dreaming.
Brian modded seriously
“Don’t be surprised. This is something I’ve thought through carefully”
“Your medical research achievements are undeniable.”
Chapter 202 Brian Wants to Be Her Assistant
“So, being your assistant isn’t beneath me.”
“Besides, we’ve just established the integrated medical department. It’s easier to make a name for yourself here and climb the ranks.”
Gemma stopped in her tracks.
Those words might fool others.
But she wasn’t buying it.
Brian was the CEO of Read Group. Being a doctor was just a hobby,
But since Read Group was a leader in the pharmaceutical industry, Brian’s position at the hospital indirectly reflected the company’s capabilities.
If he went from being a respected attending physician to an assistant….
Wouldn’t Read Group’s PR deparmen have a meltdown!
“Brian Drogo has already been arrested. Im not in danger anymore. You don’t have to worry.”
“Really, you don’t need to guard the medical department just for this ”
“Besides. I might be going abroad for an exchange soon. Once I’m out of the country, those people won’t be able to find me.”
