Chapter 10: Then Be My Aunt
Marcus has recently been spending most of his time either at the company or drinking.
He left his son with Mabel, and became a hands–off boss.
A group of friends kept pressuring him to drink, and each time, he ended up thoroughly drunk.
In the end, his friends had to send him home.
The next day, he woke up and went straight to work, repeating this cycle.
He was already getting fed up with it.
How come that damned woman still hadn’t received the news to stop him?
Gemma had once said that although she worked as a surgeon, she preferred studying nutrition.
Luckily, her hospital had a high–end wellness center, where she studied with experts.
She could prepare medicinal dishes to help him with his health, but the condition was that he couldn’t drink alcohol,
Every time he got drunk, Gemma would get angry, but in the end, she still had to come over to comfort him and make him a hangover soup.
Lately, without her special recipe, he’d been feeling a dull pain in his stomach.
So, he directly called the family doctor.
After examining him, the doctor prescribed a bunch of medicine and advised him not to drink.
He angrily sent the doctor away.
The doctor hurriedly left with his medical kit.
Unlike Gemma, no matter how she was treated, she’d always patiently comfort him.
Suddenly, a friend sent him a video.
“Max, the woman in this video looks a bit like Gemma,
Marcus quickly clicked on the video.
It was footage of Gemma trying to treat Smith, but being stopped by the bodyguards.
In the video, Gemma had cut her hair short and was wearing a plain white lab coat, looking completely unadorned.

She looked nothing like the woman who had been depressed after the divorce.

Now, his mind was filled with images of Gemma flirting with another man.
He was about to explode from these thoughts.
They hadn’t even officially divorced yet.
And she was already cheating on him?
After a long time, he finally realized that maybe his emotions had been a bit too extreme

He rubbed his brow.
He immediately understood why he was so angry.
Gemma was still legally his wife.
As his wife, she should understand the boundaries between men and women, and not overstep.
His woman couldn’t be touched by anyone.
Even though he had decided he wouldn’t go back.
As long as their marriage still existed, he absolutely wouldn’t allow anyone to humiliate him.
He immediately called his friend.
“How did you get this video of her?”
The friend was stunned for a moment.
“Max, is that really Gemma?”
Marcus’s face darkened, but he didn’t speak
But his friend, not seeing his expression, continued, unbothered.
“Gemma’s really famous now, she’s saved so many lives at the hospital, and lots of people are asking her for treatment.” Marcus sneered at this.
With fame comes busier days, and overtime becomes routine.
She didn’t really need to chase after such hollow fame.
If she really liked that stuff, who could carry more weight than Mrs. Wilson’s name?
Besides, he had once decided that if she gave up her career and stayed at home as a housewife, he’d give her a wedding. But back then, she hadn’t appreciated it and refused to give up Even if she’s famous, so what?
As long as Wilsons said a word, her career could be destroyed!

Marcus suddenly realized something.
“You’re abroad?”

The friend choked for a moment. “Max, are you focusing on the wrong thing? I’m all alone and have no protection. Can you help me get back?”
After a pause, the friend suddenly noticed something odd.
“Strange thing. Gemma used to be attached to you like a shadow. I can’t believe she left you behind and went abroad?” “Are you getting divorced?”
Marcus clenched his phone. “Is it dangerous there?”
“Of course, my personal safety is barely guaranteed right now.”
“Give me the address.” Marcus spoke almost like an order.
The friend didn’t ask further and sent him the address.
He was about to leave the country immediately.
But as he reached the door, his face suddenly darkened.
Gemma left so decisively–she was doing this on purpose to make him worry. If he went abroad to find her now..

She’d probably flaunt it in his face, wouldn’t she?
When she faces danger and has no one to protect her, then she’ll be begging him like a dog.
His steps stopped suddenly. He turned back and walked into the living room, sitting down on the sofa.
“I’ll find someone to keep you safe, but you need to keep an eye on her. Don’t let anything happen to her.”
The friend immediately understood. “Looks like you two really did have a fight. Fine, fine, I’ll keep an eye on her for you.” “But Max, aren’t you going to apologize?”
“Apologize? When has she not always apologize first?”
True… it’s just that you’re such a charming asshole, otherwise, who could put up with you?”
Gemma didn’t sleep well the entire night.
In her dreams, she was haunted by the brutal scenes from the battlefield.
When she woke up, it was already late in the morning
Beside her, Noah was sitting on a small stool, playing with toys.
He was being very well–behaved
Hearing her voice, Noah immediately looked up. “Gemma, Uncle Cass hasn’t woken up yet. He must have been up to no good during the night. Shame!”
Gemma froze mid–stretch.
The memory of last night’s waistline kept swaying before her eyes,

“I’m not a little man!” Noah immediately retorted, “I know everything!”
But he sighed, looking unusually worried.
Gemma was s surprised “You’re still so young, and you have worries?”
Noah nodded, looking a little embarrassed.
“Uncle Cass is ugly. I posted pictures of him trying to find an Aunt, but no one wants to come.
Gemma burst out laughing. Cassius, such a cold person, was being set up for marriage by his own nephew?
“Isn’t it possible that they’re just too scared?”
“They’re too scared to be my Aunt?”
Gemma said,
Maybe they’re just afraid for their lives?”
Noah looked worried again
But soon, he looked up again. “Then Gemma can be my Aunt! Gemma isn’t scared of Uncle Cass
