The Naill Salon Scandhaing Chapter 50

Chapter 50: Marcus’s Tears and Pleas to Win Her Back

Mabel was thrilled inside

She had worried Gemma’s bond with Marcus might soften his resolve

But now, it seemed clear. It was all because of gratitude

Gemma had restored his eyesight. Giving her the title of Mrs. Wilson was merely a way to repay her and help her stand on her feet in NL City

Max, I just worry things between you two. Ali is still young, and he can’t be left without a mother forever.”

Marcus clenched his jaw, his hands balled into tight fists

She’ll come crawling back to me, begging.”

Mabel blinked in surprise

Did he really think the divorce wouldn’t go through

You know, she reminded him softly, the coolingoff period is almost over.”

Marcus’s face darkened

His knuckles whitened as he gripped the edge of the table, the veins in his hand bulging against the skin

Since she’s so desperate to leave,he growled, then fineI’ll let her. Let’s see how far she gets in N.L. City without me. Mabel bit her lip

She could sense the bitterness in his words

She had to fan the flames further

For Gemma, the following week was bliss

No Marcus. No unnecessary drama. Just peace

Her patients were steadily recovering, so work was light

Even better, Candy, the little golden retriever she was fostering, had turned into a snuggly ball of love

Dr. Kelestine?”

She looked up from her phone, where she’d been smiling at the latest photo Noah had sent her of Candy

It was Cedric, standing at her office door

Since the hacker incident, Gemma had been given her own private officea mark of respect and acknowledgment from her colleagues

So Cedric’s visit raised a few eyebrows, but no one dared question it

What brings you here? Is Mr. Gray”

Cedric held up a hand, his expression sheepish. Grandpa’s fine, Actually, I cameto apologize.”

Gemma blinked in surprise

You know,Cedric began hesitantly, when you and Max were together, I used to think of you as some country bumpkinignorant, unrefined, someone who didn’t belong in our circles

I was wrong, Gemma. I was a blind, arrogant fool, and I looked down on you

I owe you an apology. I know I don’t deserve forgiveness, but if I don’t say this now, I’ll regret it forever.”

Gemma’s throat tightened

Her lips parted, but she couldn’t utter a word

She grabbed her pen to write the records, but she couldn’t write a line..

Then she put it back in the pen case, countless thoughts running through her mind

Chapter 50: Marcus’s Tears and Pleas to Win Her Back

I’veforgotten about it,she whispered

She turned away, hastily wiping her eyes

Cedric, guilt written all over his face, pressed his hands together

He was a total jerk

How could he dislike someone so kindhearted like Gemma

Please, let me make it up to you,he said. “I heard you’ve been nominated for Doctor of the Year. Let me throw a party to celebrate

He really wanted to do something for her

Gemma turned to him..

He looked at her in pleading eyes

Okay,Gemma chuckled, Thank you in advance, then.”

Cedric was caught off guard by her agreement but quickly broke into an excited grin. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure it’s

flawless!”

In the past, few people in their social circles knew that Gemma was Mrs. Wilson. Even among their closer friends, most avoided her, looking down on her as someone unworthy of their attention

This time, Cedric was determined to make a statement. He would showcase Dr. Relestine’s brilliance in the most public and extravagant way possible, ensuring everyone who had ever dismissed her would regret it deeply

Three days later

Marcus received news about Cedric’s party when discharging Alijah

But what caught his attention was that Cedric hadn’t invited him

Maybe Cedric didn’t bother to send him a invitation, as they’re so close friends

Mabel, can you take Alijah home? I have a party to attend.”

Mabel halted in her pace

To be honest, the last thing she wanted now was spend time with Alijah

He’s acting weird lately, not as clingy to her as before

Max, you shouldn’t push yourself. Your body hasn’t fully recovered. Skip this one.”

Marcus waved her off. This is business. I’ll be fine.”

Mabel had no choice but left with Alijah

Alijah had been glancing around ever since they left the hospital. It seemed like he was looking for someone but couldn’t find them. His little face was clouded with disappointment

Still, he stayed quiet and followed Mabel home

Marcus called for a car and made his way to the hotel where Cedric was hosting his party

The past few weeks in the hospital had worn him down. He’d been injured, yet Gemma hadn’t called or checked innot

Even once

That silence gnawed at him. Frustrated and bitter, he decided he needed a drink to numb the ache

When he arrived, the party was already in full swing

He hadn’t been invited, but Cedric’s house was practically his own, so it didn’t bother him

A server led him to the private dining room. He paused at the door as familiar voices carried out into the hallway

Dr. Kelestine is brilliant. It’s an honor to know you.”

With your talent, Dr. Kelestine, you’re heading straight to the top.”

Did you hear she’s venturing into cardiology now? Truly versatile.”

Chapter 30: Marcus’s Tears and Miras to Win Her Back

Marcus stood frozen, the words echoing in his mind

He recognized the voices. These were the same people who used to mock Gemma, calling her unrefined and saying she didn’t belong

They were the ones who’d sneered at her background, undermining her worth every chance they got

And he’d let them

Back then, he’d known Gemma was hurt. He’d seen the longing in her eyes whenever they humiliated her. But he never stepped in

She wasn’t worth risking his social standing for or so he’d told himself

e didn’t go in

Marcus lingered at the doorway, his grip tightening on the frame. He

Now he understood why Cedric hadn’t invited himthis wasn’t just a celebration. It was a statement

Cedric was standing up for Gemma in a way Marcus never had

He stepped away and told a server, Get me a private room. And bring the wine I left here last time.”

After a few glasses, he saw Gemma leave the party. Her figure slipped through the entrance, heading home. Without thinking. Marcus followed

Gemma felt uneasy as she walked toward her apartment. She’d had the odd feeling of being followed, and her steps quickened instinctively

The moment she reached her door, she hurriedly unlocked it, slipped inside, and slammed it shut

She exhaled shakily, letting her guard downuntil she heard a knock

Gemma, it’s me,came a familiar voice

Her heart jumped to her throat

Marcus? How had he found her? He was supposed to be in the hospital! Was he here to retaliate

She wasn’t with those bodyguards today

Open the door. Come home with me. You’re mine

  1. ng. I’ll make it right

I was wrong

I’ll stay with you every day. Please, Gemma.”

Gemma grabbed a pair of noisecanceling earplugs, shoved them in, and quickly called the police

Even with the earplugs, she could faintly hear him pounding on the door, his voice trembling with emotion. Gemma, please. Don’t leave me. Don’t divorce me.”
