Selena’s POV
No matter how much I didn’t want his
heart
words to hurt, they still pierced my over and over. Meanwhile, Linda was sitting on the ground sobbing inconsolably.
“Please stop yelling at her, this is all my fault. I don’t deserve to be pregnant; Selena deserves it more, especially after how much she has helped me.” She ranted, fake tears running down her face.
Zane‘ s expression instantly softened as he glanced at her. He released a sigh and got down from the car. He gave me one last venomous glare before he bent down and gently scooped Linda into his arms, consoling her softly.
“Hey, it’s okay. Don’t say that. It’s not your fault that Selena is incapable of having a child, while you‘ re perfect. So stop blaming yourself or troubling yourself.

It’s not good for the baby.” He murmured softly to her, and she nodded pitifully.
He turned back to the car and gently placed her back in the passenger seat of the car. I watched as he wiped her tears tenderly with his thumb with a soft expression on his face.
“Rest now, alright. We’ll have dinner, and I’ll order your favourite. Just as you like it.” He said to her with a small smile.
At that moment, everything just made me feel sick. Immediately Zane turned to the driver’s seat and got in, I opened the car door.
“I don’t want to go anymore, Zane. You too should go ahead. I have lost my appetite, and I’m already exhausted.” I announced, stepping out of the car and slamming the door.
My gaze caught Linda’s briefly, and she gave me a smug and triumphant smile. She

thought she had won. If only she knew that it didn’t matter to me anymore.
“Selena,” Zane gritted out through clenched jaws. “Don‘ the absurd. This is our anniversary dinner, Selena. So what do you mean?” He questioned with annoyance in his tone and eyes.
I shrugged nonchalantly. “I just remembered that I have something important to do.” I replied.
Zane’s eyes blazed in fury, and he stepped out of the car again to stand before me.
“Get in the car now, Selena!” He barked, spit flying out of his mouth.
“No,” I replied firmly.
Before he could protest more, Linda.
whimpered slightly.
“I’m really starving, Zane.” She said with a sad pout.
Zane’s eyes softened as he turned to her.
“Don’t worry, we’ll be going soon.”

When he saw that I wasn’t budging, he growled and shoved into me as he walked back to the car. Because I wasn’t expecting the push, I fell to the ground hard.
I winced as pain flashed through my stomach, and I cried out. However, Zane drove off without looking back.
I clenched my jaw as the agony increased. I began panting, and I felt dizziness
overwhelm me. Panic surged through me. Something was wrong.
My mind flashed back to the healer‘ s words when I had gone back for an
abortion.
“Luna, your pregnancy is a miracle. A very rare miracle after what happened with your last miscarriage. If you lose this one,
you
will never have children again.” The
healer had warned.
So I had refrained from aborting the child.
I couldn’t lose it now.

through me, and I quickly picked up my phone and immediately called Zane. It rang several times he didn’t pick up. I kept calling as the pain intensified.
Finally, he picked, and a rush of relief flooded through me.
“What do you want?” he snapped.
My voice shook as I sobbed through the phone. “Zane, please…I need-”
He cut me off with a scoff. “What drama are you acting out? Is this how you want to get my attention after the stunt you pulled earlier?!”
I cried out as agony coursed through me.
“Zane, I’m pre-”
He cut me off again. “Look, I don’t have time for your games, Selena. I’ll be back later.”
He disconnected the call. My heart.

help first. My head spun as dizziness. watched over me, and black spots appeared
around my vision.
A warm liquid flowed down my legs-
blood.
My eyes widened in alarm. I couldn’t lose this pregnancy.
