13 – The Prophecy

“With the first fated mates, a new wave of evolution began. Supernatural creatures soon learned they could mark their loved ones, fated or chosen, and pass on powers and life forces. Different species that mingled and procirated quickly realized that the newer generations came with new abilities, and the amalgamation of passed on genetics was impressive.
Fated Mates were still rare since most supernatural creatures were too impatient to wait to find their true mate who could fulfill their soul, but when they were found, no one could stand in their way. Fated Mates were considered superior to chosen mates, which is still the case today.
More years passed in a blur. One day, Queen Elania found herself with a child. To say Azrael was elated would be an understatement. He threw a celebration for his wife for a whole month. They were so happy and ruled the lands together in harmony and peace. Now, they would finally expand their family.
The other brothers, Azullia and Axcus, had harems of women and men, along with their chosen mates and many offspring, but one thing was clear: none of their offspring were dragons. They mated with humans, supernaturals, hybrids, and demons, but none could produce dragon offspring.

Elania soon gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, whom they named Apollo, and shortly after he was born, he sprouted fire red dragon scales just like his father, and his eyes glowed a gorgeous golden color–the true prince and heir to the throne of Dragons,
More time passed, and Azullia found his fated mate in a half–human, half–witch, Juliana. Immediately after, they produced triplet boys, all dragons Several more children were born between the original triplets, and they soon learned that only the boys inherited the dragon trait.
Axcus, however, had something else brewing in his soul. When Darkness struck him in the great battle, he left port of his darkness inside Axcus. A seedling, patiently waiting and feeding off the old magic. It helped plant the seed of jealousy and greed; the more Axcus and his dragon fought for control, the larger the seed grew and festered deep inside Axcus, who became increasingly resentful and cruel to his subjects.
Unbeknownst to Axcus, he was merely a pawn for this dark seedling. One day, the seedling found a new host: a human Lord who had already been born with a dark aura.
This Lord was a product of one of the faithful of Darkness whose lineage was cursed with mortal and mundane life. The seedling jumped from Axcus, leaving him frail, something from which he would never recover. The Lord began to plan the demise of all those who punished his family.
Over the next few years, Darkness’s seedlings spread among humans, finding their essence the easiest to corrupt: hatred, doubt, jealousy, and greed. Human curiosity and their need for more power would be their undoing.
The humans became bold and started the Uprising. They began to slaughter the supernatural, their neighbors, and their friends. They sought to control all the lands and wanted to possess their gifts. With the help of the lingering Shadows, who put fear into their souls, the corrupted humans wreaked havoc on the utopian society and demanded superior beings bow at their feet.
The Dragon Kings and the supernatural creatures fought back, and many battles ended in bloodshed. After careful observations and experimentation, the humans discovered many supernatural creatures‘ weaknesses. They weaponized the balance that had to be created against the supernatural races
Wolfsbane and Fairydust leaves could immobilize the Wolves; iron ore and water steeped with Calli lilies could burn the Vampires; purified and blessed water and burning sage destroyed demons; lavender and pure mountain salt could weaken the magical connections of the Fae, weapons of steel, iron, silver, and gold were forged in fire and brimstone, and any of these weapons could cause serious injury. But no one could figure out how to defeat the Dragons.
Now I can hear your thoughts, wondering what all this history has to do with the seven of you.
Well, one unfortunate day, Elania was outside the castle walls picking wildflowers when a group of human revolutionists seized an opportunity and took her hostage while Azrael was off battling the resistance leagues away. For several weeks, they kept her locked up in chains and deprived her of primary care in hopes of breaking her.
What no one knew at the time, and what most creatures do not know, is that Elania was with a child at this time. She could not be broken because she gave all her will and strength to protect her growing child.
Oner Atari received word that his love was taken, he set out to rescue her and destroy the human resistance once and for all. Without his mate, his beast was consumed in anger and agony. One night, a great battle engulfed the humans camp as Azrael and his brothers rained down heavy fire,
During this battle, Elania gave birth to a baby girl with the help of a young muiden. Elinia was too weak to ricape her chains, so the her child. She knew that the hunsins were for consumed with evil to let her go, and she knew she was going to penish that same night.

She trusted the young maiden who had befriended her during her captivity, Elania, using the last of her immortal essence, blessed the child: “May your blood bring peace upon the realmss. May the Magic of Oli kuuever protect you, my sweet child. May we meet again one day”
When she kissed her child, the same blinding white fight that once surrounded Elania Those years before now surrounded the baby, and a small golden dragon mark that matched her mother’s was seen on her tiny wrist. With Elania’s blessing and gratitude, the young maiden escaped with the young babe swaddled in cloth and disappeared into the forest beyond the camp, covered by the fire and smoke of the great Azrael.
Shortly after the maiden escaped, Elania was dragged out of her prison by the bloodied leaders of the human resistance, a blade on her neck. In a final sheme of defiance, the human holding the fragile Queen pulled the knife across her skin. Elinia’s last breath was taken as she looked into the eyes of her beloved, showing him nothing but love and joy at the sight of him.
In his grief and anger, Azrael led to a slaughter so great that Darkness even cowered in fear. The humans found the Dragon Kings‘ greatest weakness but, in doing so, created an even more powerful monster instead of destroying them.
Having lost his one true love, the only purely rational person in his existence, Azrael decided that humans no longer deserved the kindness and joys that magic offered. Ascus and Azullia were both drained of energy and agreed that they could no longer safely protect the lands.
So Azrael and his brothers created this realm, Drakkon Vale, with the Last of their lifeforce and allowed all supernatural creatures and their mates, chosen and fated, to enter the realm, a haven from the evils of humankind. The realm was sealed away…….
