Chapter 7 I Agree

Yan Corporation Headquarters.
Ji Zhisheng walked straight into Yan Corporation Headquarters after she got out of the car.
Yan Corporation Headquarters used a card access system. Each employee would have their own ID card.
The receptionist stopped Ji Zhisheng the moment she saw her walking over.
“Miss, may I know who you’re looking for?”
“I’m here to look after Liu Jie. I believe she’s working in the planning department on the sixteenth floor.”
“Do you have a reservation?”
Someone walked over and looked at Ji Zhisheng curiously before she could respond to the receptionist’s question.
“Are you Ms. Ji?”
Ji Zhisheng looked at that person in confusion, “You are?”
“Hello, Mr. Ming!” The receptionist saw Ming Fei and greeted him.
Ming Fei nodded and had his eyes locked on Ji Zhisheng again.
“I’m Mr. Yan’s assistant. My name is Ming Fei. Are you here to look for our president?”
Ji Zhisheng shook her head.
“Erm. Nope. I’m here to look for Liu Jie from the planning department.”
“Oh. Ms. Liu.”
“But, I don’t have a reservation. I’ll just wait for her right here until she gets off from work.”
“Since you’re here to look for Ms. Liu, I’ll bring you upstairs.”
“I don’t think we should do that.”
“It’s fine. It’s almost the end of office hours anyway.”
The receptionist was dumbfounded when she saw how polite Ming Fei was as he led Ji Zhisheng into the office. She began to panic the moment she returned to her senses.
It seems like that woman is close to our president. Did I accidentally offend an important figure?

Ji Zhisheng got off on the sixteenth floor while Ming Fei made his way up to the highest level into the CEO’s office.
Yan Qianmo returned to his office after he had finished a meeting. Ming Fei followed him into his office. He handed a document to Yan Qianmo after he sat down, “Sir, this document requires your signature.”
Yan Qianmo went through the contents before he reached out for his pen and signed it in a stylish manner.
Then, Ming Fei took over the document again. He turned around all of a sudden as he was making his way out.
“Sir…”
“Yes?” Yan Qianmo lowered his head and was checking out other documents as he replied to Ming Fei.
“I saw Ms. Ji previously.”
“Which Ms. Ji?”
“Ji Zhisheng.”
Yan Qianmo raised his head, “Where is she?”
“She’s not here to look for you; she came to look for Ms. Liu from the planning department.”
“Oh?” Yan Qianmo squinted his eyes.

16th floor’s conference room of Yan Corporation Headquarters.
Ji Zhisheng sat in the room and waited for about three minutes. Finally, she saw an elegant woman with amber colored curly hair through the transparent glass door walking towards the conference room.
Liu Jie walked into the conference room and sat right opposite Ji Zhisheng. She looked at Ji Zhisheng curiously.
“I heard that you’re looking for me?”
“Hello, Ms. Liu. I believe you can recognize my voice. We talked through the phone this morning.” Ji Zhisheng handed over her name card as she was talking.
Liu Jie’s expression changed all of a sudden. She stood up immediately, “I’m quite busy today. You got the wrong person.”
Ji Zhisheng raised her volume to speak, “Ms. Liu, I have evidence of what you did. Are you sure you don’t want to talk to me?”
Ji Zhisheng’s words managed to stop Liu Jie.
“Evidence of what I did?” Liu Jie laughed, “What kind of joke is this? What did I do?”
“Bribery, fraud, forgery of documents, money laundering and… embezzlement of company’s funds.”
Liu Jie, who was angry now, had a vicious look on her face, “Do you have any evidence to back up your words?”
Ji Zhisheng handed over several sheets of paper to her nonchalantly.
“Ms. Liu, why don’t you have a look? This is the transaction records from your Swiss bank account. This is your signature on the agreement between Qian Kun Co. Ltd. and Four Seasons Group East City’s branch. This is the photo retrieved from the hotel’s recordings showing how you were dining and sharing a room with Four Seasons Group East City’s deputy general manager. This last photo is the photo taken back when you carried out the transactions using your company’s funds.”
Liu Jie’s face turned pale the moment she saw the evidence gathered by Ji Zhisheng.
“You… How did you manage to gather all these?”
“I have my own connections!”
Liu Jie clenched her fists firmly. She looked at Ji Zhisheng who sat opposite her in a resentful manner, “What are you trying to do with this evidence? Are you trying to sue me?”
“No!” Ji Zhisheng smiled and replied, “I need Ms. Liu to promise me to be my witness to go against Four Seasons Group East City’s Branch in the case where they illegally delayed engineering payment. In return, I will give the original copy of these documents to you.”
Ji Zhisheng was threatening Liu Jie bluntly.
Liu Jie clenched her teeth, “Give me some time. I need to think it through.”
Ji Zhisheng smiled and stood up, “That’s fine, but you will only have seven days to consider. Please give me a call after you have made your decision.”
Ji Zhisheng walked out of the conference room after she finished her sentence.
After Ji Zhisheng had left the conference room, Liu Jie’s handphone rang.
Liu Jie, who was in a daze, got shocked by the ringtone.
Liu Jie felt guilty all of a sudden when she found out who was calling her.
“Hello, Mr. Ming. Do you need anything from me?”
“Ms. Liu, the president wants to see you. Please come over to the president’s office immediately.”
“Alright. I’ll be there right away!”

Ji Zhisheng headed over to the restaurant nearby to have her lunch after she had left Yan Corporation.
Her phone rang the moment she sat down after she had finished ordering her food.
She checked out her phone. To her surprise, it was Liu Jie.
“Hello, Ms. Liu.”
Liu Jie’s voice was hoarse. It sounded as if she was worn out.
“Is this Ms. Ji?”
“It’s me. Ms. Liu, have you made up your mind?”
“I agree to be your witness. In fact, I can provide you with more evidence.”
Ji Zhisheng raised her eyebrows.
It was beyond her expectations because of how smoothly things went.
“All right. When will you be free? We can discuss it in detail.”
“Within the next two days. I’ll call you when I’m ready.”
“All right.”
Ji Zhisheng felt a sense of relief after she had hung up the call.
It was one after another. Ji Zhisheng’s phone rang again after she had just hung up the call with Liu Jie.
This time, it was Yan Qianmo who called.
Ji Zhisheng began to imagine things in her mind the moment she saw Yan Qianmo’s name.
She immediately ditched those ideas she had before she picked up the call.
“Mr. Yan.”
Yan Qianmo’s deep voice could be heard coming from the other end of the call.
“Are you still in the company?”
His assistant must have told him about it since he saw Ji Zhisheng.
“Erm. I’m at a restaurant nearby. Is there anything you need from me?”
“Grandma called me. She told me to call you because she was wondering if you will be back home for dinner tonight?”
Ji Zhisheng replied immediately, “Please tell grandma that I’ll be working overtime tonight. I won’t be back for dinner.”
“Okay.”
Ji Zhisheng let out a sigh of relief after she hung up the call.
Ji Zhisheng was unsure why, but she could feel that something was off about that conversation. She couldn’t pinpoint what went wrong exactly though.
Ji Zhisheng had a simple dinner at a random restaurant after she had clocked out before she made her way back to her apartment.
Ji Zhisheng couldn’t wait to take a shower after she had reached her apartment. She finally got to relax after a long day. After she had walked out of the washroom and changed into a comfortable sleeping robe, someone knocked on her door when she was about to lie down on her bed.
The landlord had called her before Ji Zhisheng reached home because she wanted to pick up the power bank she left behind at Ji Zhisheng’s place last night while they were signing the tenancy agreement.
It must be the landlord.
She grabbed the power bank on the coffee table and headed to open the door.
The landlord was a middle-aged woman. Ji Zhisheng thought that she had nothing to hide from her since they were both women. Thus, Ji Zhisheng rushed over to open the door with a sleeping robe on.
“Mrs…”
Ji Zhisheng was about to greet the landlord, but she was stunned when she saw who it was standing outside her apartment.
