Chapter 14
Ronald’s voice quivered as he lowered his head, inexplicably unwilling to meet Elsie’s gaze at that moment.
“I’m serious. I’ll give you a third of my conipany’s shares.”
Elsie was taken aback. Company shares were no joke.
Money could be spent and gone, but shares could determine the future of the business.
Why would Ronald offer her something so valuable?
Then Ronald added, “I’ll give you this villa too.”
Elsie suddenly realized it was all for Missy, wasn’t it?
He wanted to use the company shares to shut her up?
To stop her from badmouthing Missy for stealing her husband?
But almost the entire upper echelon was well aware that Ronald had been keeping Missy as his mistress and that they had a child together.
How ridiculous!
Elsie walked up to Ronald, lifted his chin with her delicate hand, and coldly signed, “No need. I don’t want it.”
Ronald clenched his fists, sinking deep into the couch, his eyes red with anger. “Why? Why can’t you just be obedient for once? Why
can’t you be like Missy?”
Elsie’s eyes widened, feeling as if Ronald had ripped her heart out and stomped on it.
Even now, he had to bring up Missy?
Elsie signed with palpable agitation, “Ronald, you make me sick, and this villa makes me sick!”
Images of the photos Missy had sent to assert her dominance flashed through her mind, making her heart ache even more.
She bit her tongue, afraid she might cry in front of this cold–hearted Ronald. “Can you just let me go?”
Ronald stared at Elsie’s trembling hands, his gaze dark and his tone icy. “You’re expressing all this because you’ve fallen for someone else and want a divorce so you can be with another man?”
He grabbed Elsie’s waist, pulling her into his lap, his head resting against her neck, his breath hot on her ear.
“Have you forgotten it was you who used every trick to force me into marrying you? It was you who declared your love for me. You were the one who fell for me first!”
“And now you say you don’t love me anymore?”
“What am I to you?”
With that, he bit her earlobe, nibbling, licking, and sucking.

His hand moved to her back, quickly unfastening her bra.
His lips trailed down her neck, kissing her more passionately.
Elsie struggled with all her might, managing to create a small distance. She pushed him away and signed in a rage. “Ronald, you’re crazy! What are you doing?”
“How can you do this to Missy, who’s pregnant with your child?”
“I don’t love you anymore. Missy is so good for you. Why don’t you just divorce me and be with her?”
Ronald’s eyes fell on Elsie’s small, defiant face, and his heart ached explicably.
He murmured like a drunk, “You were the one who said you loved me How could you fall out of love with me so swiftly?”
“Do you really not know why I’m so good to Missy? Do you really not know?”
Everything he did was for her.
If it weren’t for her having someone assault Missy and getting her pregnant, would he have had to deal with Missy’s situation and keep her around?
Elsie turned her face away, as if looking at Ronald any longer would make her vomit, her hands still moving.
“I don’t love you anymore. If you force yourself on me, it’s rape!”
She turned back, her eyes locking with Ronald’s.
“Are you going to rape me?”
Ronald felt all his strength leave him in an instant. There were plenty of women out there who wanted to sleep with him.
He wouldn’t stoop so low as to force himself on a mute girl.
The image of the man in the photos flashed through his mind, filling him with scorn.
No matter how much she explained, it was all to be with that man.
Ronald shoved Elsie away. She didn’t have time to react and fell to the ground, her waist hitting the sharp edge of the table.
The pain made her break out in a cold sweat.
Ronald turned his head away, ignoring her injury, his voice cold.
“I’ll have my secretary draft a new divorce agreement. You can leave now!”
Elsie bit her lip, wiped her tears, and turned away without a trace of hesitation, exuding an air of cold resilience.Ronald sat quietly on the couch, watching Elsie open the villa door and disappear from sight.
His fingers ached, but his heart hurt even more.
Ronald didn’t understand what was wrong with him, thinking it was just anger at Elsie’s disobedience.
He took out his phone and called his assistant.

The phone tang once before I was quickly answered. “Mr. York, what can I do for you this late?
Ronald’s face was hidden in the darkness, his emotions unrendabile. The theater project I mentioned before, cancel it.
The theater was a gift he had meticulously prepared for Elsie,
But now that they were getting divorced and Elsie was about to be with another man, there was no point in syntinuing.
The assistant hesitated. But the theater is almost finished, just waiting for the ribbon cufting. If we cancel now, we won’t recoup our investment, and all the effort will be wasted.”
“And Mr. York, your hard work on the design would be for nothing.”
Ronald thought of the nights he spent working on the design and fel a pang of regret.
He said coldly, “Fine, forget it.”
“Have the lawyer draft the divorce agreement. Elsie can keep her parents‘ inheritance and the property in Novaria.”
He pondered for a moment before continuing, “And give her the musical theater as well; it’s of no use to me anymore.”
The assistant was stunned. They were getting divorced?
Everyone in the company knew how devoted Mrs. York was to Mr. York.
How had it come to this?
He cautiously asked, “Mr. York, are you divorcing Mrs. York?”
Ronald’s face darkened, and he hung up the phone.
Who else would he be divorcing?
He had planned to support Elsie in winning the Peace Dove Award.
He knew her dreams and her determination.
He was willing to support her.
But now that Elsie was determined to divorce, why should he do so much for her?
Besides, this cold–hearted Elsie didn’t deserve his support at all!
Missy would be giving birth soon, and he had to consider her feelings.
