Chapter 9
The atmosphere fell into a heavy silence.
My words left Alpha Anderson speechless.
After a long pause, he finally managed to speak, his voice low. “You’ve changed so much.”
I gave a cold smile. “Do you think I’m still the naive woman who used to revolve around you? But, to be honest, I should thank you. If it weren’t for your cruelty back then, I wouldn’t be the woman I am now.“”
On our anniversary, I was betrayed by both my husband and my child. If I hadn’t changed, I’d be a fool.
“I’ve said what I needed to say. Now, please

leave.”
Alpha Anderson inhaled deeply. “Sorry to disturb you.”
His gaze suddenly fell on me, and he pointed to the pendant around my neck with surprise. “Isn’t this Vivian’s necklace? How did it end up with you?”
I met his eyes and said each word clearly, “This is mine.”
Alpha Anderson’s pupils widened. “No way! This is impossible! Vivian saved me, and it was because of this necklace that I recognized her!”
I hadn’t intended to bring it up, but since he’d said so much, I couldn’t help but respond.
With a mocking tone, I asked, “Are you

sure you recognized the right person? It’s a shame you’re the Alpha of the Red Moon Pack.”
“The moonlit riverbank in winter was so cold… You fell into the water by accident. I’ll never forget the icy water that day. That’s why my health has been so fragile ever since..”
Alpha Anderson’s face grew darker. “Wait -was it you who saved me that day? No, you’re lying! You’re deliberately saying this to get back at me!”
“I won’t believe your words. This pendant has Vivian’s name engraved on it–there’s no way it’s yours.”
Alpha Anderson stared at me, trying to find any sign of a lie on my face.

I opened the pendant, revealing the two
letters “Vi” engraved on the back. I pressed the raised side of the pendant, and it split in two, revealing the two additional letters “ya” inside.
It was my name!
I looked at him with a cold expression. “You saw the outer letters and assumed it was Vivian’s, but you didn’t realize there was more inside.”
Vivian had found the pendant but never bothered to examine it closely. Plus, the hidden mechanism made it easy for the secret inside to remain undetected by Alpha Anderson.
“Now, you should believe me. I wasn’t lying. It’s your true love, Vivian, who’s been deceiving you.”

Alpha Anderson took a few steps back, his expression a mixture of shock and anger. He had believed Vivian was his fated mate because she had saved his life.
What he didn’t know was that it was actually me who had saved him, only for Vivian to take credit.
His face contorted with pain, and he stammered, “Vivian, I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was you. If I had known, I never would have
“Enough!”
I interrupted him sharply. “The damage has already been done. There’s no point in saying this now. And I don’t want to hear your
apologies.”

If apologies were useful, why would we need the Moon Goddess?
Alpha Anderson left in a daze, muttering to himself, “How could this be? I actually mistook the wrong person.”
Lucy, my wolf, couldn’t help but comment, “Maybe this is fate, that we and Alpha Anderson aren’t meant to be. The Moon Goddess really played a joke on us.”
I didn’t regret it. If anything, it showed me the true color of Alpha Anderson.
