Chapter 13 It Would Feel Incredible
Uh… Was he angry because he was jealous that I called out Samuel’s name? That was impossible. In my previous life, I barely interacted with Evan. I didn’t know why or when he started liking me.
But it couldn’t be denied that I had called another man’s name
in my dreams while sleeping on his lap. Anyone in his position would be upset. After all, no one would like an unfaithful suitor.
Xavier was as caring as always. He suddenly slammed on the brakes. I reflexively grabbed onto Evan’s waist, while my face was pressed up against his stomach due to the inertia.
It felt like heaven when my head was slammed against his stomach. His stomach was solid, yet supple. I guessed that he probably had a six–pack.
Touching it would probably feel incredible. He smelled great too. However, before I could take a good whiff, Evan pulled me back by my collar and coldly pushed me away.
“Ms. Sinclair, as we are members of the opposite sex, please. keep your distance!” Evan glanced at me expressionlessly and got out of the car, slamming the door behind him.
It turned out that we had already arrived at the Seasons Hotel in Solvian. I stayed in the car and watched Evan walk into the hotel without looking back.
I rubbed my nose which had turned red from the impact and smiled at Xavier. “Xavier, thanks for what you did just now.
Chapter 111 Would
23
When I become Evan’s wife, I’ll make sure to give you a raise!”
“Am I supposed to thank you or something?” Xavier rolled his eyes at me.
I shamelessly added, “No need to thank me. By the way, feel free to cause more accidents like this. I need your help to
become Evan’s wife.”
“There’s no use relying on me. You’ll have to put in your own effort.” Xavier tossed my luggage to me.
The two of us joked around as we rode the elevator upstairs. When we arrived at the sixth floor, we saw Evan standing in the middle of the hallway, staring at us coldly inside the glass
elevator.
He looked like he was reprimanding us for slacking off on the job. Xavier glared at me like it was my fault. I simply pouted in
response.
I knew Evan was angry, so I should try to appease him. But I just didn’t want to.
Previously, our interactions were all built upon my shamelessness, but the situation was different now. He couldn’t fire me before the translation job was done.
I needed to throw a small tantrum or two while I could. Didn’t
he want me to keep my distance? Then, I would give him what he wished for.
After walking out of the elevator, I greeted him politely and
said, “Mr. Stafford, I’ll head back to my room if you don’t need
me.”
We planned to visit the site at 4:00 p.m. and have dinner with the investor, so we could take care of our own lunch.
Evan didn’t say anything. He only yanked at his tie and
returned to his room. Before the door closed, I beamed at
Xavier.
“Xavier, my luggage is too heavy, so can you help me carry it to my room?”
Xavier was stunned. He looked at me like I had just doomed
him to certain death.
I fearlessly walked over to him and clung to his arm, saying, Come on, Xavier, help me out. After all, I’m just a girl…”
“Ms. Sinclair, get in here!” I heard Evan’s cold voice behind me.
When I turned around and looked at Evan, I could tell he was threatening me with his gaze. It was like he was scolding me for flirting with other men.
How curious… I wondered if he would stop being so angry if I flirted with him instead. I suppressed the urge to laugh. I might have just found the way to his heart.
The door slammed behind me after I entered his room. After yanking off his tie, Evan unbuttoned his collar and walked toward me. He looked like he was going to pin me against the wall.
My heart started racing. I started wishing that he would press
against the door in his fury and kiss me passionately.
