Chapter 18 Served Him Right
I couldn’t talk back to Evan in front of everyone, so I put on a sweet smile. “Madam Annie, I’m still young, and this is my first time eating Firestone Roast. Could you help me prepare it?”
Annie froze, but I simply blinked. “Madam Annie, I’d also like to try the king crab and those prawns. The fish looks pretty good too. Could you take care of those for me as well? Thank you so much. You’re so kind.”
The more innocent and naive my smile was, the more
frustrated Annie became. She couldn’t exactly refuse me. So,
she had no choice but to serve me the whole time like a
waitress, peeling prawns, and deboning fish.
I enjoyed myself immensely. I tried to sneak a sip of my wine during the meal but found that Evan had replaced it with. orange juice at some point. However, I dared not complain.

“Thank you all for the wonderful hospitality, especially Madam Annie for being so thoughtful. Much appreciated! You all enjoy the rest of your meal. I’m going for a little stroll.”
Then, I cheerfully stood up and left the table. Sure enough, I hadn’t walked far when I heard Annie’s voice behind me.
“Julia, stop right there!”
“If I stop just because you told me to, I’d be embarrassed.”
I rolled my eyes and kept walking. Unperturbed, Annie chased after me in her high heels and was nearly out of breath.
“You were ordering me around on purpose, weren’t you? Hmph, don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. Yo re just Evan’s niece, yet you dare to dream of becoming Mrs. Stafford. Your should take a good look at yourself!”
I dug a finger in my ear. “Old woman, maybe you should take a good look at yourself first.”
With a push, I shoved Annie into the restroom. Before closing the door, I waved my hand at her. “Mind your facial
expressions, or you’ll deepen those wrinkles.”
Hmph. Calling me “Juju” over and over to mock me for being young. Yes, I was young, only 18. I might not be as mature or seductive as she was, but her age was also a flaw.

At that moment, my phone started vibrating. Speak of the devil. The call was from Samuel. Not wanting to interrupt Madison’s fun, I answered in a low voice.
“Hello.”
“Julia, what the hell did you say to Maddy? She hasn’t spoken to me in two days! It’s my birthday today, but she didn’t even come to look for me!”

I almost forgot today was June 22nd, Samuel’s birthday. It was also my wedding anniversary with him in my past life.
