“I can’t tell anymore,” I said, “Are you being real, or are you just acting?”
Hearing that, Keith frantically pulled for his phone and opened X.
“Look! I swear I mean it! Chrisley and I are completely over!”
“Right now, the whole internet is criticizing me. My image is ruined!”
“But I don’t care, babe. As long as you come back to me.”
“I’ll give up everything. All of it. I just want you back in my life!”
For the past few weeks, I’d barely gone online. It was the only way to stop
tormenting myself, so I had no idea what had gone down between Keith and Chrisley.
But honestly? None of it mattered anymore.

I just looked at him and forced a bitter smile. “Keith, there’s no going back. I can’t be the person I used to be anymore.”
As I turned to leave, Keith panicked. He didn’t even care about the golden retriever barking its head off; he grabbed my hand tightly.
“Why not? Why can’t we go back?”
“Babe, I swear, if you come back, I’ll make it up to you. I’ll love you even more!”
“This lifetime, I’ll only love you!”
“Even though we lost the baby, we can have another one, right?”
“If you love the beach, I’ll buy us a villa here.”
“As long as you and I build a family together, we’ll never be apart again!”
He looked at me, desperate for me to say
yes.
What he got instead was a slap across the

face.
“There’s no going back!”
“I can’t have kids anymore. Ever!”
His eyes widened in disbelief. “How could that be? You’re fine now. How could you not have kids again? Babe, don’t say stuff like that just to hurt me. Please, I’m begging you. Just give me another chance.”
He stared at me, pleading, still clueless about what had really happened.
Looking at his confused face, I couldn’t help but laugh bitterly.
“Now you care about having a kid?” I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. “Weren’t you the one who told Chrisley yourself that you’d make sure I’d miscarry within three. days?”
His face instantly drained of color. “You saw my…?”
He started to accuse me of snooping on his phone but stopped himself mid–sentence.

“Babe, I was stupid back then, okay? I admit it. Back then, yeah, I loved her. I wanted to be with her. Getting close to you was just part of the plan.”
“But I regret it now! I swear, I regret everything!”
“Can’t you just give me one more chance?”
I tilted my head back, forcing a smile to hide the tears threatening to spill.
“Listen, do you still think I lost the baby because of you back then?”
“You put abortion pills in the honey tea, sure, but that wasn’t it. That wasn’t the day I lost our baby.”
“I lost my baby the day you got caught by the paparazzi at a hotel with Chrisley.”
“That was also the day the doctors removed my womb.”
“And you? While I was in the hospital for seven days, you were on a vacation in the Maldives with her.”

“You even used our old photos to cover up
the truth.”
“So tell me, Keith, how am I supposed to forgive you?”
“How am I supposed to start over?”
All the anger that had been bottled up inside me exploded at that moment.
I nearly screamed at him, heartbroken and in pain.
Keith was frozen, completely at a loss for how to respond.
“So go,” I said. “We can never have kids again.”
